Well a couple months ago I gota call from the lake saying my boat cover got killed by a major wind storm we had. OK thanks for calling :phone Planned about 4 times to go and get it, needs some TLC anyway. Was really set to go last Saturday then the football playoffs got in the way  :drink

Now we are in for about 3-4 wet Winter storms in a row. And probably 4-6 inches a rain in the next week. :(  I leave the plug out of it so it should drain but I can just about see what a mess it will be if and when I get up there. :eek

For those of you who don't know I keep my boat at a small lake thats lets say is a 8 hour round trip away :banghead

Hey KC, If its still at Apache, give em a call at the desk, Im sure they would toss a tarp over it and tie it down to the trailer for ya... As you know they are pretty cool up there!  :good  I have a number if you need it.....

;)

I'd be calling them!.. :eek

Well at least you won't have a boat pool. On the up swing, the first few minutes of rain will knock the dust down and the rest of the time raining will wash the boat out.  :D

Some really great people up there for sure. :good

I thought about UPSing a cover up to them but that will make me even less likely to go and get it before Spring. It needs an oil change and a good cleaning, especially now. Boats kinda of a beater any who. It'll just add more character :cool

Is 4 hours away a magic number for leaving them. Mine is also about 4 hours each way. :stupid

Back in the "good ol' days" we left Magic up at Apache all spring and into summer. Got a call one day that the cover had ripped and blown half off (It was the shipping cover).

They, on thier own, re-secured the cover, and put one of those cheapo blue tarps on it, and were asking if we would be up anytime soon to fix it better, or did I want them to do it....

Yup, case o' beer to Mike up there for that one!  :good

Two projects are outside all covered up, but the main one is all nice and warm in the shop!.. :good  :D

Maybe You Should Have Them Put The Plug Back In And Make Sure The Bilge Pump Is Still Working. That Way, When The Lake Level Goes Up, At Least It Can Still Float ......

I've done my blower motor also. it was kind of a pain. And I will admit that not all the screws went back in. And I seem to remember some thing to do with a control box of some kind making it even harder. :break

I did the water pump yesterday and it wasn't to bad. Keeping the gaskets in place was kind of a pain. I got in a hurry and didn't let the sealant tacky up.

Yeah, pretty much anything under the dash is a pain!.. :rolleyes

I use contact cement on the pump that holds the gaskets in place then soft sealer on the block, then if you have to replace it again it'll just fall off and don't have to do a bunch of scraping to clean the block!.. :good  :D

Great weekend for going up to get the boat. Well untill yesterday I had to put in a heater core in the Suburban. Now this morning the frikin water pump starts leaking :banghead  :say?

Heater cores are a PITA, better you than me!.. :eek  :laugh

:good  :D

Now there's a handy tip from the advice column!!  :good

And in my boat motors I just use white grease instead, that way gaskets are reusable, saves on gaskets every time I tear it down for inspection!.. :good  :D

And another!! Damn...I love this site!!  :good
-----------------------QUOTE END--------------------

I also use a one piece oil pan gasket!.. :D
-----------------------QUOTE END--------------------

Now you're just showing off..... :D  :laugh
-----------------------QUOTE END--------------------

Who me??.. :stupid not me!!.. :D
-----------------------QUOTE END--------------------

Don't you have to get ready for Hooter's or sumthin'??  :D  :laugh
end
