He's about 5 minutes from the Feather River and Yuba River(I think those are the rivers ) he gets alittle nervous now and then in heavy rain. Allways talkin about "hope the dikes hold" Hope things stay in one piece for ya. -----------------------QUOTE END-------------------- <00FFFF'>Yeah, when it get's like this, they send out Levee patrols that actually drive along the levees hoping to catch potential breaks before they happen.  They don't always catch them but they usually find them by the bubbleing up of water on the "Dry" side.  Hopefully there's no serious flooding this go around.  It's just a mess with the wind blowing and the rain coming down.  That, combined with the predicted Thunderstorms in a few hours, can make it pretty bad.  I expect to lose electricity sometime today.  It's just the nature of the beast. Posted by: BigBoyToys on Feb. 25 2004,8:34 am <00FFFF'>Ok, just got back from taking the kids to school.  I took my Lifted PU and couldn't keep it straight going down thr road.  When the kids got out of the truck at school, the rain blew inside the truck and SOAKED the interior....it's raining and blowing that hard!  The Elkhorn Causeway, which is on I-5 between Woodland and the Sacramento Airport, is flooded with wind gusts reported at 70 mph.  The CHP are escorting cars through there.  However, the worst of the storm is supposed to hit in 2 to 3 hours, about the time Mrs BBT heads to school.  Since she has to go to Sacramento Via I-5, she isn't gonna go due to the flooding on the causeway and the dangerous winds.  So, anyway, I 'm on my way back from taking the kids to school and am in line of cars at a 4 way stop.  BOOOOOOMMMM!  I hear a loud noise.  The car RIGHT BEHIND me had a HUGE Oak Limb fall of a tree and land on their hood.  I got out and made sure they were ok...they were so I got the hell outta Dodge.  I get home, and my portable carport over the Biesemeyer is COMPLETELY GONE!!!!   At this point, there isn't much I can do with the boats but hope that they come out ok when it's all over with.  I also lost some Vinyl siding off my house (It has vinyl siding all the way around), lost 1 gutter, and MANY shingles off the roof (Cedar shake).  I was planning on redoing the roof anyways this summer.....hopefully it holds out. Well, that's where I'm at right now.  The lights keep flickering so I'm shutting doen this computer before it blows too!  Catch ya's later!
