Jim, no prob. :)  What do you want to use?  The cool boat show pic that you use on OP6, or one from the Lavey pic thread?  The only problem right now is I think cyclone took the best pic of your ride the other day and I don't have access to it as long as hotboat is down.  I'll add the OP6 one until you tell be otherwise. :)

Titles and Levels
The basic titles and corresponding levels (stars) are earned by the following post counts:

>5 "Boatless" - level 1
>50 "Pwc'er" - level 2
>100 "Boater" - level 3
>200 "Hot Boater" - level 4
>500 "Boat Racer" - level 5
>1000 "Boat Builder" - level 6

Special circumstances allow for "special" titles, but the levels remain the same. (Jordy pretty much handles the special titles)

each level is an extra flame.

:D

Bonnie, I gave you your title, but if you don't like it, you can talk to Jordy. :D

Boatnam, if I might offer an opinion up.

I would recomend not getting one with all the panels on it..  (Just side panels to keep out the dirt.)    When you start addin all the panels it kinda takes away from the whole "rail" feel of it.   P.S.  Ya got any pics of the one right behind it?

Posted by: 77charger on Jan. 09 2003,7:40 pm

jim that buggy looks very well suited for the desert and parker areas looks good to me :)
Posted by: RiverDave on Jan. 09 2003,7:41 pm

Jim, I don't mean to critisize here, but are those "blinkers"  and a winch on the front of that thing?

Posted by: boatnam1 on Jan. 10 2003,5:27 am

yea rd it has blinkers, also a big fan inside so the windsheild dont fog up.all panels pop off very easy it only takes a few minutes.the car right next to it is bad ass but it is a a-arm car.havent pulled the trigger yet we will see.
Posted by: Carrera Elite on Jan. 10 2003,5:30 am

I like the looks of the a-arm cars myself.
Posted by: boatnam1 on Jan. 10 2003,8:37 am

i love the looks of the a arm cars but i personally dont think they will hold up to the desert,if the did you would see all the race cars with them.
Posted by: Carrera Elite on Jan. 10 2003,8:38 am

I would think that the beam would be stonger. :D

There are quite a few out there.  Talk to companies like Fodrill and Spenser. They build some bad ass desert cars that run A-arms.  I'm thinking the Chenowith SV-16 (it's been a while) was an a-arm car as well.    The biggest difference in going from a beam to an a-arm car is the $$$$$$$.  Most places add anywhere from $1,000 on up to the price of the bare frame to go a-arm.  :D
Posted by: SuperV on Jan. 10 2003,10:10 am

Looks sweet. ANd BTW i think the winch is cool. You never know When you may need it to keep you from rollin down a hill or something :D
Posted by: RiverDave on Jan. 10 2003,10:44 am

Jim,  ya know what,  you might want to track down Bill Harrig at Badenochs.  (It's a fabrication shop in the back)   He's had some involvement with alot of Parker 400 winners.  :)   He'd be a real good guy to ask advice from for a play rail in Parker.

I've got plans for a light weight long travel sand buggy.  Lookin at putting a northstar v-8 in it.  Probably start on pricing it out next season.

I had one of the old Skat-Trak buggies with a turboed honda 1500 cc motor in it.  A-arm front suspension.  5 ling rear suspension.  It was sweet, but did not jump well and was a little short.  That turbo put out 25 lbs - caused a lot of headaches as it was hi maint.  But funner than shit!  Sold it to buy a house.
