Little is being said about this but Maters need to know that economists have said this treaty will destroy most non-esential businesses (which would include drag racing). The treaty states that the United States will cut ALL energy related emissions by 1/3rd. What this will do is cause gas rationing or an extreemly high tax on gasoline. This will prevent race teams from being able to transit thier race cars to the race track which will force tracks to close and will leave racers no place to race their car. It will also doom the high performance parts industry. President Bush has not and will not sign the Kyoto treaty because of the devistating effect it will have on business and the economy. I posted this here because you guys need to know whats instore if Kerry wins. I don't want to be typing on this site about the good old days three years from now. Pepole need to know this before the election not after. If there's a reason to vote it's this issue! This s hit will affect pleasure boating and big suv tow vehicles too!!! here's more.- The first line from Kerry is from an interview with Field & Stream magazine. The second is from Bush's website. Kerry: Well you’ve got to enforce the emission standards. And you’ve got to fight with other countries to hold them accountable, too. That was the flaw with the Kyoto Treatyâ€â€the less developed countries were left out. And what goes up into the atmosphere in Asia can have an impact on a Montana, Wyoming, Oregon, or Washington lake just as much as anything else. Posted by: Ziggy on Oct. 15 2004,2:07 pm I don't believe one iota of what Kerry has to say--he wants to reform everything and promises everything..he can't do it without the support of the Senate or Congress....which is near impossible to do for anyone. Received this from a very good friend in PA. she wants everyone to know what she saw. Good Tuesday morning! John Kerry brought his "front porch meeting" to our Canonsburg, PA neighborhood on Labor Day morning. Since you will never hear the truth from the TV or print media I thought that you should know from someone who was almost' there. The residents who live on the street where the event took place were not allowed to attend. Kerry shipped in approximately 90 invitation only VIPs. In addition, there was a hard luck case who was about to lose her job at USAIR and another was an elderly woman who was having health care problems. Neither one was from this neighborhood. The street was closed to all traffic the night before and all residents on the street were REQUIRED to remove their Bush/Cheney signs. The sympathetic police officers on duty told us that Kerry used imminent domain to claim the street for his purposes. Residents who have homes within the perimeter (approximately 1 full block) were kept behind a line away from the partisan crowd. The rest of us were not allowed within the 1 block cordon. A neighbor from across the street came to the line where we were being kept and asked us to come onto his property. The police told us that we could not stand on this mans FORMERLY private property! This was set up so that Kerry's views could be heard - but not the neighbors. About 30 peoples (mostly neighbors) shouts echoed down the street "Let the neighbors in". We could barely hear Kerry speaking with his microphone because press buses were used to block us off from view! This mornings papers are reporting hecklers tried to interrupt Kerry as he spoke to the neighborhood gathering, but he turned our chants to his favor by calling us rude. Even though most of the media was there to record our stories of not being included in the neighborhood forum, not one of them printed or aired the truth. This is what America will look like if Kerry becomes president. Get registered and get all of your friends registered to vote if they have not already. Kerry thinks that he is better than the rest of us and he has the media on his side to make him out to be what he is not! Finally, last night as I drove down the street where the rally was, I was shocked to see Bush/Cheney signs in almost every yard on the street! And the truth is, he will say anything and do anything to get elected, and if elected, he'll mess up this country big time. And as you can see by the story above, he don't care about anybody but himself, and doesn't care who's toes he steps on. Spread the story and get out the message! BUSH IS THE MAN FOR AMERICA!!! Posted by: Mrs big boy toys on Oct. 17 2004,8:49 pm <00FFFF'>No problem... We all need to get the word out there so our country doesn't go to hell in a hand basket. Posted by: Mrs big boy toys on Oct. 18 2004,5:12 am <00FFFF'>"Election determines fate of nation" In that this will be my last column before the presidential election, there will be no sarcasm, no attempts at witty repartee. The topic is too serious, and the stakes are too high. This November we will vote in the only election during our lifetime that will truly matter. Because America is at a once-in-a-generation crossroads, more than an election hangs in the balance. Down one path lies retreat, abdication and a reign of ambivalence. Down the other lies a nation that is aware of its past and accepts the daunting obligation its future demands. If we choose poorly, the consequences will echo through the next 50 years of history. If we, in a spasm of frustration, turn out the current occupant of the White House, the message to the world and ourselves will be twofold. First, we will reject the notion that America can do big things. Once a nation that tamed a frontier, stood down the Nazis and stood upon the moon, we will announce to the world that bringing democracy to the Middle East is too big of a task for us. But more significantly, we will signal to future presidents that as voters, we are unwilling to tackle difficult challenges, preferring caution to boldness, embracing the mediocrity that has characterized other civilizations. The defeat of President Bush will send a chilling message to future presidents who may need to make difficult, yet unpopular decisions. America has always been a nation that rises to the demands of history regardless of the costs or appeal. If we turn away from that legacy, we turn away from who we are. Second, we inform every terrorist organization on the globe that the lesson of Somalia was well learned. In Somalia we showed terrorists that you don't need to defeat America on the battlefield when you can defeat them in the newsroom. They learned that a wounded America can become a defeated America. Twenty-four-hour news stations and daily tracking polls will do the heavy lifting, turning a cut into a fatal blow. Except that Iraq is Somalia times 10. The election of John Kerry will serve notice to every terrorist in every cave that the soft underbelly of American power is the timidity of American voters. Terrorists will know that a steady stream of grizzly photos for CNN is all you need to break the will of the American people. Our own self-doubt will take it from there. Bin Laden will recognize that he can topple any American administration without setting foot on the homeland. It is said that America's W.W.II generation is its 'greatest generation'. But my greatest fear is that it will become known as America's 'last generation.' Born in the bleakness of the Great Depression and hardened in the fire of WW II, they may be the last American generation that understands the meaning of duty, honor and sacrifice. It is difficult to admit, but I know these terms are spoken with only hollow detachment by many (but not all) in my generation. Too many citizens today mistake 'living in America' as 'being an American.' But America has always been more of an idea than a place. When you sign on, you do more than buy real estate. You accept a set of values and responsibilities. This November, my generation, which has been absent too long, must grasp the obligation that comes with being an American, or fade into the oblivion they may deserve. I believe that 100 years from now historians will look back at the election of 2004 and see it as the decisive election of our century. Depending on the outcome, they will describe it as the moment America joined the ranks of ordinary nations; or they will describe it as the moment the prodigal sons and daughters of the greatest generation accepted their burden as caretakers of the City on the Hill. "Everything's OK," he said. "Real cool." Soldiers in Baghdad encountered the boy living on the streets and discovered that he knew a lot about the people behind insurgent attacks in the city, said Lt. Col. Brian McKiernan, commander of the 1st Armored Division's 4-27 Field Artillery Unit. McKiernan said Tuesday he took Johnny into the unit as a janitor in September 2003 and the boy learned some English. The boy eventually helped U.S. troops apprehend more than 40 insurgents and seize several weapons caches, McKiernan said. "He came to identify with the soldiers and admire them," McKiernan said. "He is a unique individual with a lot of heart, very loyal." After learning that his unit was going to be transferred to Germany, McKiernan contacted Girls and Boys Town about helping the boy. McKiernan feared Johnny could be targeted by insurgents for helping the Americans. "I thought if we could give him a better lot in life, a fresh start, it would be worth it," McKiernan said. Johnny arrived in the United States on Monday and ate a McDonald's hamburger for his first American meal. At Girls and Boys Town, he will live with a couple who have seven other orphans and two of their own children. For privacy reasons, Girls and Boys Town would not disclose the boy's name. My husband looked at our son and then looked at me. My husband and I were in the Army during the Gulf War and we would be honored to serve and defend our Country again today. I knew that my husband would give him a good explanation. My husband thought for a few minutes and then told my son to go stand in our front living room window He said "Son, stand there and tell me what you see?" "I see trees and cars and our neighbors’ houses." he replied. "OK, now I want you to pretend that our house and our yard is the United States of America and you are President Bush." Our son giggled and said "OK." "Now son, I want you to look out the window and pretend that every house and yard on this block is a different country" my husband said. "OK Dad, I'm pretending." "Now I want you to stand there and look out the window and pretend you see Saddam come out of his house with his wife. He has her by the hair and is hitting her. You see her bleeding and crying. He hits her in the face, he throws her on the ground, and then he starts to kick her to death. Their children run out and are afraid to stop him. They are screaming and crying. They are watching this but do nothing because they are kids and they are afraid of their father. You see all of this son... what do you do?" "Dad?" "What do you do son?" "I'd call the police, Dad." "OK. Pretend that the police are the United Nations and they take your call, listen to what you know and what you saw, but they refuse to help. What do you do then son?" "Dad… but the police are supposed to help!" My son starts to whine. "They don't want to son, because they say that it is not their place or your place to get involved and that you should stay out of it." "But Dad...he killed her!!" my son exclaims. "I know he did..but the police tell you to stay out of it. Now I want you to look out that window and pretend you see our neighbor who you're pretending is Saddam turn around and do the same thing to his children." "Daddy...he kills them?" "Yes son, he does. What do you do?" "Well, if the police don't want to help, I will go and ask my next door neighbor to help me stop him." our son says. "Son, our next door neighbor sees what is happening and refuses to get involved as well. He refuses to open the door and help you stop him," my husband says. "But Dad, I NEED help!!! I can't stop him by myself!!" "WHAT DO YOU DO, SON?" Our son starts to cry. "OK, no one wants to help you, the man across the street saw you ask for help and saw that no one would help you stop him. He stands taller and puffs out his chest. Guess what he does next, son?" "What Daddy?" "He walks across the street to the old ladies house and breaks down her door and drags her out, steals all her stuff and sets her house on fire and then...he kills her. He turns around and sees you standing in the window and laughs at you. WHAT DO YOU DO?" "Daddy..." "WHAT DO YOU DO?" Our son is crying and he looks down and he whispers, "I'd close the blinds, Daddy." My husband looks at our son with tears in his eyes and asks him .."Why?" "Because Daddy..the police are supposed to help people who need them...and they won't help... You always say that neighbors are supposed to HELP neighbors, but they won't help either...they won't help me stop him...I'm afraid...I can't do it by myself Daddy...I can't look out my window and just watch him do all these terrible things and...and.....do nothing...so...I'm just going to close the blinds... so I can't see what he's doing...and I'm going to pretend that it is not happening." I start to cry. My husband looks at our nine-year old son standing in the window, looking pitiful and ashamed at his answers to my husband’s questions and he says..."Son" "Yes, Daddy." "Open the blinds because that man... he's at your front door..."WHAT DO YOU DO?" My son looks at his father, anger and defiance in his eyes. He balls up his tiny fists and looks his father square in the eyes, without hesitation he says: "I DEFEND MY FAMILY DAD!! I'M NOT GONNA LET HIM HURT MOMMY OR MY SISTER, DAD!!! I'M GONNA FIGHT HIM, DAD, I'M GONNA FIGHT HIM!!!!!" I see a tear roll down my husband's cheek and he grabs our son to his chest and hugs him tight, and says... "It's too late to fight him, he's too strong and he's already at YOUR front door son...You should have stopped him BEFORE he killed his wife, and his children and the old lady across the way. You have to do what's right, even if you have to do it alone, before it's too late." my husband whispers. THAT scenario I just gave you is WHY we are at war with Iraq. When good men stand by and let evil happen son, THAT is the greatest EVIL of all. Our President is doing what is right. We, as a free nation, must understand that this war is a war of humanity. WE must remove evil men from power so that we can continue to live in a free world where we are not afraid to look out our window; so that my nine-year old son won't grow up in a world where he feels that if he just "closes" the blinds, the atrocities in the world won't affect him. "YOU MUST NEVER BE AFRAID TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT! EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO DO IT ALONE!" BE PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! BE PROUD OF OUR TROOPS!! SUPPORT THEM!!! SUPPORT AMERICA!! SO THAT IN THE FUTURE, OUR CHILDREN WILL NEVER HAVE TO CLOSE THEIR BLINDS..." This should be printed in every newspaper and posted in every school in America. Of course that won't happen, so we'll use the Internet. The driver, a young man in a YSL suit, Fendi shoes, Bvlgari sunglasses & an Armani tie leans out the window and asks the cowboy, "If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd, will you give me a calf?" The cowboy looks at the man, obviously a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing herd and calmly answers, "Sure. Why not?" The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell notebook computer, connects it to his AT&T cell phone, surfs to a NASA page on the Internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite navigation system to get an exact fix on his location which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra-high-resolution photo. The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg, Germany. Within seconds, he receives an email on his Palm Pilot that the image has been processed and the data stored. He then accesses a MS-SQL database through an ODBC connected Excel spreadsheet with hundreds of complex. He uploads all of this data via an email on his Blackberry and, after a few minutes, receives a response. Finally, he prints out a full-color, 150-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet printer and finally turns to the cowboy and says, "You have exactly 1586 cows and calves." "That's right. Well, I guess you can take one of my calves," says the cowboy. He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on amused as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car. Then the cowboy says to the young man, "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my calf?" The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, "Okay, why not?" "You're a consultant to the Kerry campaign." says the cowboy. "Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, "but how did you guess that?" "No guessing required." answered the cowboy. "You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked; and you don't know anything about my business... ....Now give me back my dog. ![]() ![]() Posted by: GoFastRacer on Oct. 31 2004,6:39 pm (Most Americans haven't thought about this, have you?) We will ! This takes all the expense off Kerry and puts it on us. Nevertheless, factor another major cost to Americans that Kerry does not want you to know about. Becoming President would automatically include taking care of all their properties with Secret Service Agents -- this includes 5 agents per 6 hour shifts, 4 times a day, 365 days of the year for the rest of their lives as long as they own those properties. It comes with being President, once you are elected. It requires us the taxpayers, to pay for this as well as his annual salary, as well as his retirements (Senator and President) including the cost of living adjustments each year to boot, plus salaries and protection for all their real estate property, plu s Secret Service Agents, and pay the bills for the rest of his life. In addition, feed the Secret Service Agents and rotate new ones every 6 hours for the rest of Kerry's life. Do the math. Five properties need to be protected. This requires five Secret Service Agents per shift, daily every six hours, per property! That is 20 Secret Service Agents per day per property everyday including Holidays. Wow, what does that cost? Lets say an average of 20 agents per property, each earning about $60K per agent to survey the perimeters and protect. Now times that by five properties so far. That is, if the Kerrys do not buy any more properties afterwards. This also includes the Agents vehicles and repairs, gas, meals, days off, paid vacation, and medical plan visits etc per agent. Who pays? YOU pay, the whole time they are alive after becoming President! Is this the best use of our tax money, electing Kerry to take care of all their properties, both foreign and domestic? On the other hand, shouldn't he pay for his own? Yet, the Presidential salary could not afford it. The more I think about paying for Kerry's properties everyday, just makes me happy keeping President Bush all the more merrier. Without raising taxes to boot. How on earth would Kerry pay for everyone to have Healthcare, increase our military, and have us pay to protect his investments, all without raising our taxes? Tax and spend Kerry is his party's motto. Which really has to make you wonder why anyone with his wealth, would take a salary of that of a U.S. Senator, never mind "wanna be" President? Do you believe now why he needs to be the Prez? To serve the people? On the other hand, the people serve him and his wife! Please lets keep Bush a resident in the White House, and not have to protect another Kerry house. Think this one over and then have a nice day. ![]() Posted by: Wifey on Nov. 02 2004,12:30 pm ![]() ![]() Posted by: RIVERRATMIKE on Nov. 02 2004,1:28 pm ---------------------QUOTE BEGIN------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted by: My Man's Sportin' Wood on Nov. 02 2004,1:44 pm ![]() Posted by: AZKC on Nov. 02 2004,2:59 pm ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted by: Sleek-Jet on Nov. 02 2004,3:02 pm ---------------------QUOTE BEGIN------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted by: AZKC on Nov. 02 2004,3:06 pm ![]() Also remember in the great Irish tradition "vote early and vote often" ![]() Posted by: Sleek-Jet on Nov. 02 2004,3:09 pm ![]() I figure I'm up on you by a couple hundred. ![]() Posted by: AZKC on Nov. 02 2004,3:17 pm ![]() ![]() Posted by: Sleek-Jet on Nov. 02 2004,3:19 pm ---------------------QUOTE BEGIN------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted by: Carrera Elite on Nov. 02 2004,7:15 pm ![]() Posted by: Carrera Elite on Nov. 02 2004,7:17 pm ![]() Posted by: Carrera Elite on Nov. 02 2004,7:20 pm ![]() Posted by: GoFastRacer on Nov. 02 2004,8:25 pm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted by: Carrera Elite on Nov. 04 2004,7:29 pm ![]() Posted by: GoFastRacer on Nov. 04 2004,7:31 pm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted by: Carrera Elite on Nov. 04 2004,9:44 pm Little Tommy, who had just opened his book, closed it slowly, and said to the stranger, "What would you like to discuss?" "Oh, I don't know," said the stranger. "How about politics? Should we keep Bush or elect Kerry?" "Okay," said Little Tommy. "That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow and a deer all eat grass. The same stuff! Yet, a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?" "Jeez," said the stranger. "I have no idea." "Well then," said Little Tommy, "How is it that you feel qualified to discuss who should run the country when you don't know crap?"
