Just picked up this 74 Thursday, guy didn't know what he had said it had a V8 and automatic, opened the hood and there was a new Vortec 350 and a 700R, new headers and dual Flomaster exhaust and a Powertrax no-slip, has a 4"-6" drop done "right" and it is totally rust free, truck handles and runs like a dream. oh, and it has a new modern day A/C unit too. Couldn't pass it up for $2500..

Thanks guys. I plan on switching to a stepside bed and I'll probably pull that toy motor and put the 468 in from the dually, should be a fun ride then..

I'd stick with the fleetside

Just make sure you put bigger wheels and tires on it...
Cool little ride Art.

Thanks Aaron, it is fun to drive. But no Mexican wheels for me 15's are good just need a little more tire though, but those wheels are ugly and will be replaced, thinking maybe some Centerlines??.. Eventually it's gonna look similar to this one..

Wheels are fine to me. But definatly need more tire on them to take the lowrider look away from it.

Yeah, they're only 24 1/2" tall 26" would bring it up to the fenders, and those wheels have too much back space wheels are tucked in way too far. Of course with a taller tire I'll probably have to drop a gear though..

Nope, haven't touched it since we moved here too many setbacks, and still trying to get the shop done($$$$$$$$ , and I'm also taking a different route on it, I decided I may as well do it right so it's coming apart down to bare metal and start over.

Sweet ride just the way it is but the step-side would be cooler.....
Posted by: GoFastRacer on Dec. 30 2013,4:49 am
Thanks, yeah step-side would be nicer alright, missed out on a donor truck too that's the worst part had all kinds of good stuff including a step-side bed, oh well on the hunt again. I did put some decent tires on it though looks a lot better..
