Heres one I need help with. My driveshaft cover (the one that goes from the flywheel cover, back to the pump ) seems to have shrunk. There is about a 1/4 inch gap at the pump end, after I bolt the 2 halves together, and up to the flywheel cover. Should I be worried about this? Will water make its way thru that gap? I can post a pic of what I am talking about if need be. Lets here some suggestions. I have inspected the shaft, and all seems well there. I did unbolt the 2 rear engine mounts when I was doing some work to the block, but I supported the rear of the block with a jack while it was apart. The front was never touched. Thanks for any help....-DD Out

DD, something had to move or you reinsatalled something different, metal ain't going to shrink a 1/4". If you can post a pic of the area, might be able to see the problem!. If water gets back there when running, all it will do is spray the area a bit from the spinning driveline!..

I think I am lost?
Is this the cover that covers up the H-Bar between the engine and jet? If it is, it doesn’t need to go all the way back to the pump. It is just there to keep grease seeping out of the H-Bar from flying everywhere.
You mention water leaking so I am not sure if I am reading this correctly. Can you post a pic DD?

That's what I'm thinking it is, and I think he's talking about water splashing down on the H-Bar while running?. I asked him to post pics but he hasn't been around lately!..

I will post a pic of it. There is about a 1/4" gap from the lip of the pump, to the cover. As long as water isnt flowing thru there, I will not worry about unbolting the block, and moving it rearward. Pic to come soon. -DD
