Printable Version of Topic -HD Forums +--Forum: Trips & Events +---Topic: Elsinore 5/31 started by shueman Posted by: shueman on May 31 2004,11:05 pm Took the Yami local on Monday.  Got on the water by 7:30a and hauled the nephews around "boardin".  Still trying to get the dual engine / speed controls right.  Lots O' Fun.  Boat ran great; ready for Havasu...   We were back on the trailer by 12:30p as the water was getting pretty chew'd up.  Headed home for some BBQ and     Heard there was a big fight (alcohol induced/no arrests) in the cove on Sunday, and somebody launched but forgot to use their blower; burnt the boat up and sent 4 peeps to the hospital.   Just yer normal Holiday Week-End.. I had a friend who almost lost his life over a cover, he just had to have one thought that was the ultimate in cool..Well one time he was in the back looking at something and his wife decides to start it up, the blowers didn't work and you can't hear them anyhow but it don't make any difference unless you turn on the key and wait till the blower blows all the fumes out. Anyhow it went KABOOM and he ended up in the water, he was in a coma for 3 days and they thought he was a gonner but I guess it wasn't his time and he came around, later he said he never felt a thing and the doctors said the cover is what took the biggest hit and probably saved his life!...I won't go near a boat with a cover on it until it's running!..
