Hey, I'm running a free fantasy football league if anyone wants to join in the fun. I'm using yahoo fantasy football. We'll give away a WnW goodie bag with t-shirt, stickers and a surprise to the winner!

basically on the 6th we'll do a live draft. we will all pick from the current nfl roster. each player can only be picked once. you get a certain amount of players on ur roster. you get points based off of the players performance in each game. so for example if you get peyton manning as your qtrback your gonna get some high points most likely each week... more than say matt leinart (haha) Qtrbacks earn points off of touchdowns and passing stats where running backs earn points off of running yards and scores... you also get to pick team defenses so if you were to get say baltimore or pittsburgh as your D then you'll do better than detroit. defense earns points on holding teams to low scores or turnovers etc...
in our league we'll go head to head team vs team and the team that earns the most points wins the game. the teams with the best records goes to the playoffs.
this is a pretty simple fantasy football league really and ez to pick up. they can get pretty confusing and detailed though.
we need 7 more teams too btw.

Yahoo ranks each player based on many factors such as their stats from last year and this year in the pre-season, Example Peyton Manning is probably going to be the highest rated QB. The draft is Sunday the 6th at 1:30 MST. You don't have to be present at the draft really. You can pre-rank the players you hope to get on your team and put them in the round you'd like to draft them. Then depending on what order your get to draft your players will depend on if you can get your ideal player or if someone else can snake him from you. Basically what I would do in your case is do the pre draft rank, pick the highest ranked players at each position and then some back ups because you won't get all of your ideal choices. My strategy is to pick QB's first, then my RB's then WR's then Tight Ends, Kickers and Team Defense... but some people wish to pick in different orders because well, some people think a good defense is more important than a kicker or tight end... just examples. Does this help?
ohh and Yahoo runs the draft for us. we all log in right before 1:30.. like maybe 1:00... then when it starts we're all live and its just like a draft. u have x amount of minutes to pick your player in each round. i'm not totally sure but i think we draft around 12 or 15 players including team defenses.

Still 5 spots left. I've opened our league to the public so we can fill the 5 teams before Sunday. If you know anyone that wants to play pass the word! We can play with less than 10 teams but it's more fun to have the league filled.

make sure you get your rosters for the weekend updated today. because of the Thursday start of the season your roster for the week needs to be set today!

i think i miss spoke... i guess you can still change the players that have not played yet prior to their game starting. check the rules to see how long you have in advance to make changes.

I think all Nascar events should be held on Saturdays from now on! I love looking forward to football on Sunday's! We had the race last night now we don't have to worry about being torn between the two!
