Quote (DirtySquirty @ Sep. 10 2009,9:05 am) | I was there in the hey days of the early to mid 70's. Cruising my 1969 Corvette, T-Top, 427 ci, 450 hp of trouble. Â
The last time I cruised Van Nuys, I was issued a traffic citation for "obstructing the roadway". It seems as though my large arse was sticking out in the lanes of traffic as I was leaning into a vehicle containg a bevy of young beauties. My sales pitch didn't work with them or the cops. Â |
some of those chicks were hard core!

That was the last time I ever went down there. The cops told me they were working hard to shut it down, and not to come back.
I didn't.

We have always had cruzing here, never stoped, we have had one of the biggest car show cruz spot on the north coast right here in my town, 200 to 500 cars on sat. night, and it all started with a little burger stand that had parking for 25 cars maybe, I remember parking in the grass back in 85' and you leave your headlights on and they would come out to your car and from there it took off, we use to cruz from my town down to the town just south of us and back, Now racing was a whole nother story, we use to go up to cleveland down on west 3rd st and race but we stoped going up there after the shooting started to take place and car jackings. BUt my dad is 70 years old and can tell alot of old story from back in the 50's and 60's
