I'll bet all the money in my pocket. What you got to match it.
Are they refunding you. Shops out here don't do that anymore. |
Dealer has 3 in stock.
The parts house I bought the aftermarket pump through is standing behind their warranty and will credit me back the cost of the pump. |
Looks like WaterDog owes you around .52 cents

I think that's outstanding. That's the kind of place I like to do business with. |
Yeah, they've kept me around for a bit longer.

Quote (Sleek-Jet @ April 02 2010,4:16 pm) | I've found that the aftermarket stuff is worse then factory parts.
Like the control arm bushing I put in my Blazer... original ones went 170K+ miles... the ones I put in to replace them are already weather checked and getting loose after 2 years. Â |
Can you spell "CHINA", gotta be careful with aftermarket $hit. Moog is the only way to go for factory replacement suspension parts!.. Made in USA!...

WTF do you think was on the outside of the box my suspension bushings came in? Â Moog.
I'd take the hencho in Mexico stuff that was on my Blazer to begin with. Â The EPA has so emasculated American Manufacturing that our stuff doesn't last any longer. |
Hmmm, Moog has always been the best!..

I agree!! Moog has always been tops in my book. Have they gone down the tubes quality wise? I have been looking at idler arms for my truck.

Sure hope not, all the ball joints on the Nova are Moog. But I guess it shouldn't be that much of a surprise, seems like everything these days is going down the crapper!..

Well, the surgury was this morning, and the patient seems to be doing well. Pulled the old new pump out and sure enough, you can see where it has been drooling, probably for a while.
We'll see how long the OEM pump lasts. If I have to do this again, I think I've got it down to where it won't take me longer then an hour or so...

I'll keep that in mind
I'm getting pretty good at window regulators on ours |
I don't know nothin' about a 3 series...
The biggest bitch is getting the fan off and then back on... There isn't a whole lot of room to work right there, and that's on a 5 series. Â Someone needs to invent a two piece fan shroud, that would make thing infinitely easier.
All the bimmer-heads tell you to run an electric fan set up, but those are close to a grand and you have to hack the harnass to get power...

Nothing realy, it'd just look like $hiat...
Lots of things hang off the fan shroud on these cars (the expansion tank, aux. pump for the climate control, and half a dozen different hoses), so you'd end up having to fabricate a mess of brackets to keep everything where it needs to be.
The electric fan kits are very nice, all aluminum with a blingy fabricated coolant tank. I think the price I quoted is actually for an entire cooling system, including a new larger capacity all aluminum radiator. The fan kit itself is half that price though if bought seperately.
