Just thought I'd pop in and see if I needed to
Things are going really well here. We sold the Hallett, so we are boatless but we sold it to the son of the original owner, so it was a bittersweet sale. He is saving for a new engine before the old one finally croaks. I know he'll give it as much, if not more, TLC than we did.
Jeff finally got out of the plumbing industry . . . again! He's doing the off-road race promotions full time. Putting on races and qualifiers all over the country and now possibly one in British Columbia. Someone in Morocco has even expressed interest in a race there! He is also helping a few friends in the off-road manufacturing industry promote their race programs, PRP seats being one. So that is a little side cash.
I'm still teaching, but don't know for how much longer. It's really difficult and stressful here to teach. There is no freedom in the classroom. Because of NCLB, we had to hire an independant contractor (who happens to be good friends with our superintendant ) to have us totally change our teaching practices to thier method. I have had to watch all of the GATE money and anything else extra go to the English Learners, while the "proficient", "advanced", and black kids are either stagnant or dropping scores. It's very frustrating. Next year is my 5th year and I'll be vested for retirement. I'm thinking that might be it. Montana won't accept my teaching credential because I went through a "middle school" program. They don't have a middle school program so it's not a recognized credential program for them. Funny, because I was told over and over again that if you have a CA credential, you can go ANYWHERE and get a job. So, if all goes well, I can just help Jeff with the business and maybe tutor or substitute. I was also thinking of starting a tutoring company and then selling it. My RE agent suggested I start a company because there are no outside tutors in the area.
Katrina is headed to UM in Missoula in August. She got a good scholarship (10K/year) so her out of state tuition will be the same as in state tuition here in CA.
Cody is going into 9th grade, not sure what sport he wants to play, but he's 6'1" and about 140 pounds, so I'm thinking track and/or cross-country.
Our schedule this spring/summer is going to be real crazy, but a lot of fun. I just have to figure out what I'm going to do with my dogs!!
April 24-25-SilverState 300 in Vegas (2nd part of one of Jeff's 2 race series)
May 1-2 Jeff in Michigan with Griffin Radiator owners
May 5-8 All of us in Rausch Creek, PA for (2nd part of other race series)

June 13-20 Jeff and Angie head to Key West for 20th anniversary (may get upstaged by weeklong off-road week and KOH 3 movie premier in Reno )
June 23 head to Montana for Trina's orientation to the Univ probably spend a few days in Whitefish.
July 4, eastern Kansas with my family, then head to Southern Missouri OffRoad Ranch (SMORR) July 8-11 for part 3 of one of the race series.
The end of July or early Aug, mom and dad are either going to do the Jeeper's Jamboree on the Rubicon or hop on the Harley and go up the 395, across Yosemite, up to Redwoods and down the coast.
Mid August back to work
BUT, I do get to go to LaPaz for the end of the Baja 1000 this year. Working on plane tickets and house rental this week.
This is how crazy our life is, LOL.
Oh! And we are almost done with the remodel. Kitchen is last thing and we ordered the cabinets last weekend, they'll ship around the 20th. Jeff's going to start the destruction this week, probably tomorrow. He's been gone in Moab all week and will be home tonight.
