In a Galaxie far far away. Not to be confused with Far, Far Away land.

Quote (CaliKat @ May 05 2010,4:55 pm) | My friend Annamarie's mom drove a Galaxie when we were in jr high/high school. Â In my mind it looks like the one in the pic, but I don't think it was a convertible. Â Annamarie was mortified to be seen in it, and whenever her mom took us anywhere she'd make me sit in front and when we got to wherever her mom was taking us, she'd hop out of the car and yell, "Thanks Mrs D!" at the top of her lungs so people would think she was my mom. Â As if anyone would ever mistake the bleached blonde nutjob with the thick German accent for my Mom, waaaahaaahaa! Â Not to mention the fact that I had just moved there in 9th grade, everyone else KNEW it was her mom since they'd all known each other since birth. Â But she never gave up. |
That's funny, I remember when we were kids we wouldn't be caught dead in a station wagon either Now today the old long roofs are one of the more desired cars, go figure!..

Quote (Ziggy @ May 05 2010,5:21 pm) | A buddy of mine bought one of these around 1980'ish for $500. We partied hard in that car all over the place, then he realized he should probably take better care of it and did some resto work on it. This pic is actually a perfect carbon copy of his. |
That is sweet!..

It won't happen again................until next year! Â |
You do realize that those kids don't have a clue what it means, they're probably still thinking you nuts. |
You'd be amazed at how many of these Rodents are into Star Wars big time!! Â Kinda weird if you ask me.... |
Talked to my kid up in college over Skype that night...everybody knew what "Happy Star Wars Day" was...unfortunately, they also know what "Happy Cinco de Mayo" means too!
It's a fact of Life:
After Monday and Tuesday, even the Calendar says : WTF .......
