Quote (lawbreaker2 @ July 09 2010,10:46 am) | Ok. I don't watch basketball and I don't care if he stays or go's but the part that ticks me off is the way he did it. I understand he wanted to go so go. But don't slap us on the way out. WOW. Just another black eye for cleveland. LOL. And yes we still have the rock hall of fame still, give it time and that to will go. Â MAN oh man is this place falling apart. |
Oh, I hear ya man... he didn't have to leave like that.
But it shows everyone that he was just a frontrunning carpetbagger. He had no concern for the fans of Cleveland. And if things don't work out for him in Miami, he'll probably come knocking on someone else's door.
Someone with a lot of money no doubt.
I'm pretty sure karma will come into play somewhere along the way.
I don't ever recall another professional sports figure make such a big spectacle about leaving like that. He's no Jordan or Magic or Kareem, Bird, Chamberlain, Havlicek, I could go on and on.
Heck, even the way Manny Ramirez left Boston was better than that.

I'm not a basketball fan either until the playoffs. Just like the drama of the importance and finality of the games then.
Now; on to Mr. James. I gotta agree w/ya on how he did it. To think that people actually give enough of a rat's a$$ (and apparently they must) for "his" people to ask ESPN for an hour special pertaining to where he chooses to make more money than anyhbody who calls PLAYING a "kids' game" Â their job (I'm a firm believer that ALL ENTERTAINERS of any kind are grossly overpaid as compared to law enforcement, the medical field, educators; you get the picture) was and still is arrogant and self-centered.
BUT; then I see where he chose to hold his "news conference" and the fact that all proceeds garnered from the advertisers who purchased "spots" during that hour were to be donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the venue of choice, I gotta say "hmmmm". I still believe him an arrogant a$$ but $2,500,00 (that's two million, five hundred thousand dollars) will hopefully go a long ways in helping that orginization.
I also would like to see him, Bosh (sp.?), and Wade investigated for collusion. Afterall; when the owners get  together to "plot" the outcome of dealings in league affairs are charged w/collusion, I believe players should be too. I feel it gave Miami an unfair advantage and lessened the chances for the other teams (Cavaliers, Knicks, Bulls, Nets, Clippers) involved in the "LeBron James Show" to be able to make a viable offer at signing him. But such is the new way in "organized crime" I guess.
