Can anybody reccomend a good insurance company for carrying full coverage on a $20,000 to $30,000 I/O performance boat.  Am in the process of purchasing a boat, but can't seem to find any insurers for a decent rate.  :stupid

Thanx, it's got factory stock power.  I'll check with Progressive, have my houseboat insurance thru them, but didn't consider they might cover performance boats.

I had progressive....until I read the fine print. Good thing I never had a claim....they wouldn't have honored it. Yet they allowed me to continue to pay on a vessel that really was not covered at all. I had thoroughly explained what I was running, equip, HP etc. to the agent, and they sold it to me anyway.

Anything to make a buck........ :beat  :beat

It boiled down to one thing......over the transom headers!! I called to verify that I had been paying on a policy that ultimately would not have settled any claim that I would have made and they said that I was correct.
When I mentioned that I had talked to a sales rep and was told that the headers were not an issue, and that I wasn't happy that I had been paying on a policy that did me no good from the git-go, it was just one of those "sorry about that" answers!!  :beat  :beat
No Progressive for me!!  :rolleyes

If it was written in your policy that you had O/T's and underwritting missed it, you might of had a fight but they would have paid. :)
