Format the hard disk and reinstall the factory software shoud do the trick.....

The "Zombie Virus" is a type of  computer virus which infects .COM files. The virus is loaded into memory by executing an infected program and then affects the computer's runtime operation and corrupts program files.

It should not "kill" your computer, but knowing which files are corrupted and which are safe could take more time than just a clean format and reinstall....

Good Luck!!  :good

If everything is working good??, then it's a problem with networking, what does it say when you try to connect???, might need to reset the modem and router if you have one?, or if it's old you may need to update the Firmware, I had to do that on my old Linksys a couple of months ago, I'm about ready to buy a new one!.... But if you think you have a disease in there try this it works pretty good!... But it will format real easy, just have to boot up on your CD drive and away it goes, save all your $hit first though!...

Virus cleaning sometimes wrecks your registry and net connectivity...cleanup everything then try this:

Well, if it was me I wouldn't waste time on it, I'd just save everything and clean it out and start fresh, it's probably due for a clean out anyways!.. :good

Best Buy is not a good place, if you got the recovery CD just clean it out, if you don't just go to their site and order a CD, it's a very simple deal and you'll think you have a new machine!.. :good

Do you notice a big difference going to DOC 3?  My old surfboard just wont die, though its showing all the signs of aging....

There is a sweet wireless router from Vizio at Costco for like 59$$ that is dual band all the time for 2.4 internet and 5.0 for streaming video....  :good

Yeah big difference but my old one was an old DOC1.2, also the router was an old Wireless G and that's probably where the biggest slow down was, I saw that one at Costco don't know how good that one is, for a couple of bucks more I got a Netgear Dual Band Gigabit that thing rocks and about the best out there!. But even with a good modem and router, if the Nic card/onboard LAN isn't up to date that puts the breaks on right there, that's why I gotta upgrade the wife's machine it's almost as slow as it was before, now the wireless on the new lap tops really rocks!..
