I'm going to be pulling my snap in carpet out of the boat this weekend so I can get the new cut and ready to go back in by next summer. It is snap in that has not been out of the boat at all. Is there any other way to secure it other than snaps? I like the Rivnut idea but not sure how well that will work and what will be needed on the back side to hold them. I can only get to the backside of maybe just a few. So is my only alternative what I have now, Screwed in snaps? The floor doesn't come up to tuck and staple. It's fiberglass.

I will have before pic's as well. I'm going to try to document it's interior  transformation over the next couple years. Hopefully

Probably just snaps I guess, unless you don't plan on taking the carpet out again then just glue it down.. :stupid

Don't want to glue it. I want to be able to remove it if need to be. I was hoping there was a better or different way to hold it down rather that snaps. If it's has to be snaps then snaps I will stay with.

Yea That was an option I thought about as well. Not sure how well that will stay in place on the fiberglass side. I can sew the other side to the carpet.

Got the old out this morning.  :eek  That stuff is totally shedding underneath. Under the drivers feet under the carpet was a pile of what was left of the backing. Before the new goes  it there will be a whole lit of scrubbing to be done. I think I got it ouot just in time to be able to use it as a pattern.

I didn't get that deep in to the site to get that info. They didn't have any pricing either. Probly need to find a distributor to find that out.

Good Point. Installing can't be that hard. Then again they may have the corner on it and the only way to get it is an authorized dealer installing it.

I put SeaDek in my new deck boat this summer. I will never, ever again have carpet in a boat. This stuff is the bomb. Comfy on the feet, doesn't stain and you simply wash it with soap/water and a soft brush if needed. My dog peeing on it had zero effect.
I did everything from templating the entire floor and installing it. It is a peel and stick adhesive.
What the lifespan is I couldn't tell you, but regardless it's worth it to me.

You can buy sheet material and cut to size too.
They can engrave any custom logo or design into material as well.
I had mine done with a brushed finish and faux teak lines.

Wow that stuff looks nice, better than carpeting for sure, just the ease of clean up makes it worth while there. I'll have to look into that for the Spectra since you can get it bulk. :good

That SeaDek is like "bubblewrap" ... micro pockets of air ... doesn't get hot as you would think ...
