26 + hours on 4 different flights...it was an adventure to say the least!!!!
I'm still tired and grumpy...going to be a day or so before this cheery face is back in action Â
Well that's about all I can squeeze out...so I'm heading back to bed...nighty night
Cheers!

Quote (catsmeow @ Sep. 21 2003,12:53 pm) | Where in Scottland are you two? Â What is the itineray? Â Keep us posted if possible. Â Pics, Pics, Pics, (sorry HD), I want to see some pics.
I went in '97 and had a blast. Â It was expensive (exchange rate was $1.95 US = $1 lb (pound). Â I hope it has gone down for you two. Â Anyway, it was fun. Â Let us know where you are going and what you see. Â You could always post links to the websites of the places you've visted. Â Don't forget to see Hollyrood Palace... It's cool. Â
Enjoy and be safe. Â (PS. Edinburough at night is like LA). |
We are currently in Banchory (specifically at the Banchory Lodge) http://www.banchorylodge.co.uk
Brad will be stocking big fat red deer this week at this estate http://www.theheritagetrail.co.uk/stately%20homes/fasque.htm
I will be working on my illustrations for my books and if I have time I might write another book??? I'm not the greatest artist, so the illustrations take a lot of time
We are here in Banchory for a week I believe, then we will head up to Inverness for a few days then down to Edinburgh for a few days...
Today was great...we started with a drive to the Glen Dye Estate to check it out before Brad had to be there in the AM for his hunt. Then we toured a couple different castles and their gardens...(Crathes Castle & Drum Castle)
After that we has a great dinner and I talked a couple kids into jumping on the trampoline with me...Needed to have an excuse...sort of funny around here to see an adult not acting "proper" Once it was dark...I got Brad on the trampoline with me...and the rest of the night is NOYB
We'll post some pics as we get them...but they are sort of fuzzy because it's off our cell phone camera.
Doug, if you wanna fedex some stickers to our hotel, we'd be happy to make sure they were placed in various spots around Scotland
PS The exchange rate is about 1.5 to 1, always about that everytime we come, so I wonder if it was higher when you came due to it being 'tourist season'??? We always come during the 'off season' ???

Okay, we have the links, I'll check them out in a sec... But what about pics of the castles you were at? (Don't worry about posting pics, HD doesn't mind pics, he just didn't want the real big ones, eg. 1mg.) I wanna see the castles with you two there.
I'm soooo excited for you two. I hope you are having fun.
PS. Does Miller know we have deer here in the US that he can hunt? Please tell me you didn't go all the way there for deer hunting? j/k
PSS. My personal favorite was the castles, I couldn't get enough of them. The arcitecture was soooo cool back then. And some of them still have the old furnishings, etc... How awsome!!!! I'm on my way.... see ya in 26 hrs.

Quote (blown 472 @ Sep. 22 2003,12:36 pm) | What gun did you use?? are you shipping it back?? and lastly good for you, sounds like loads of fun. |
He used an estate rifle..it's a MAJOR pain to get your guns over here after 911...we went through that last year and it was MISERABLE...so this year Mr. Miller went with renting one of their guns....and it seemed to work just fine...dropped one right off...deer that is...not the gun

Quote (miller19j @ Sep. 22 2003,1:23 pm) | I spent today stocking on Glen Dye. We spotted the deer herd at about 10am from the land rover and then set out on foot after them. I didn't get a shot until about 2:30pm. I spent all that time either crawling through heather and burns or walking through them hunched over. When we finally got to the stags they were all laying down, so we laid in the heather for about an hour waiting for them to stand up so I could take a shot. After about an hour of laying in the mud, heather, brechen, and grass they finally stood up and I was able to shoot my first stag in Scotland. This was a momentous day for me!
And yes I did come all the way to Scotland to shoot deer.
PS I shot a deer in California before we left |
Good show old chap. Â Dispatched the animal with one shot did you?
I say you retire to the hostelry and enjoy a fine single malt.

A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his.

Quote (blown 472 @ Sep. 22 2003,1:01 pm) | Is miller wearing a kilt?? Â |
Actually right this minute he's Neked...but when he's hunting he has this really cute get up...it's a plaid knicker tweedy outfit...with the sloping funny hat His Kilt is at home with all his scotch and his claymore.
Today we got two more castles under out belt.
Topless...you obviously have not posted with Miller after a few scotches...he's always talk'n funny and chasing me around the house trying to smack my arc.
