Quote (catsmeow @ Sep. 23 2003,7:11 pm) | Sorry Big Boy Toys, I had to. My Broncos needed that boost. And I've never really been a fan of the Traiders anyway. With so many of my friends being Oakland fans, the least I could do is cheer my team on.
It's all in fun. Plus, I think I kind of had the Denver fever being here in Colorado so close to the game.
No heart feelings. Go Kings, oh wait.... I'm a Lakers Fan. Go LAKERS |
Well, I'll give ya the Raiders thing....They suck this year and don't deserve my support.
But the Kings-Lakers thing....That's a whole new ball game The Kings/Lakers is one of the biggest rivalries in sports and we are gonna take it to the Lakers this year.
Let's go there for a sec.... Guard- Mike Bibby vs Gary Payton (I give the upper hand to Bibby) Guard- Doug Christie vs Kobe Bryant (gotta go with Kobe here, he is an awesome talent but will he be there this year?) Forward- Chris Webber Vs Karl Malone (Definitely Webber here. He has beaten Malone consistently for the past few years) Forward- Peja Stojakovic vs Rick Fox (DEFINITELY Peja Here) Center- ?? vs Shaq ( Shaq will have the edge here IF he doesn't stub his toe or break a fingernail, unknown who will start center for the kings due to a few new centers acquired during off season but Look for Brad Miller to assume the starting center position from Vlade Divac. I can see the Miller/Oneal fist fight from last year happening again and will be rekindled from the already heated rivalry).
Now, with all that said, the Lakers have NOT really gotten any better during the off season and have yet to come up with a quality bench, while the Kings have Definitely IMPROVED their bench (and just when I thought it couldn't get any better). Some Kings Big names acquired this off season are; Brad Miller, Darius Songaila, Tony Massenburg, Anthony Peeler and, word up here is that the ever so exciting young talent, Gerald Wallace, is much improved and will be seeing increased minutes. And don't forget our 6th man of the year, Bobby Jackson and all the others. The Kings have the BEST bench in pro sports! Not only that, but the Maloof's were voted BEST PROFESSIONAL SPORTS OWNERS IN ALL OF PRO SPORTS bt Sports Illuustrated.
Who do the Lakers have for a bench? Or were they gonna play all the same old guys (with the exception of Kobe) for the entire game?
Just razzing ya here Catsmeow Yes, the Raiders suck and ya have me on that one. But it's gonna be a fun Basketball season to watch and I truely feel sorry for Lakers fans, Expecting too much out of the Malone/Payton thing.
