How many dark smoky blues playin pool halls are there in Orange County, Oceanside and Carlsbad.... |
There actually used to be a couple around North County, but there all closed down now. I played quite a bit at what used to be La Mesa billiards as well as College billiards as well. La Mesa was (IMO) the best pool hall in San Diego at the time. Full bar, 2 stories, good music, great tables, hot waitress, and a full blown custom cue mfg upstairs in an office. It was pretty awesome. I heard they sold it and it's got a new name, I haven't been in years. There were many pool halls that fit that "mental image" for several years even after the smoking laws came into effect. Now days though your lucky to find the roque bar that is "dark & smokey."
