Catsmeow is currently in Lufkin, Texas and told me about this article in the newspaper there.  I just thought I would share this here as this didn't make our papers. :laugh

10/15/03 Tapes, deodorizer stolen from Mazda

The Lufkin Daily News

Vehicle burglary was reported Monday in the 300 block of Mantooth Avenue, according to a report from the Lufkin Police Department.

Someone entered an unlocked 1995 Mazda overnight Sunday and stole two cassette tapes and an air deodorizer, according to a police report.

You're welcome! :D

When my grandfather was alive, he lived in San Pedro, but he used to live near Clarksville, Arkansas.  He had the Clarksville newspaper mailed to him in San Pedro everyday, but he just got it a couple of days late.  It always had the same sort of articles in it. :laugh

When we lived in Woodland Hills we use to get the Santa Ynez Valley News mailed to us. It has the same type of thing. I remember one vividly. On the front page it said “ Joe Sombody’s Cow Died!”

Now I live here and just love it! Thanks for the Laugh Doug!  :)

Our newspaper, aka the gossip rag usually consists of little tidbits that usually take place on the local Barney Fife network scanners before they make it to print...but one such edition comes to mind of two neighbors, both with dogs, that barked at each other constantly through the night.  Deputies were called to the "scene" and the report went something like....neighbors and dogs dispute.....dogs would not stop barking.  Deputy spoke with dogs, dispute settled.  :)

Really, it appeared in print.  ;)  Yes folks, this is Mullet Mountains finest.......LOL.

I'm only here until tomorrow.  I'll be leaving around 2:30 or 3pm to head back up to Dallas to catch my plane home :jumpie :plane

It is pretty here, and I've been lucky that the weather is nice (it's not humid like it normally is).  I didn't even know Texas had a "country woods" area until this trip.  It's nice.

And for all of you not familure with Lufkin it's in the back woods... but so far most of the people here have teeth.  They must have a good dental plan in the area.  :D
