Hey every one this is Katia.

Are you reintroducing your self?

Since we work & live in smog central, it seems like any other day.

But I do feel for the families that have lost their homes & loved ones.

They are saying, if the winds change as expected, we could get some of the smoke here. They are saying it won't be bad, but it's hard to beleave that it could be blown this far. I hate to see all of the destruction and property loss.

Mike...fires can happen anywhere. You rubbed a few people the wrong way with one of your comments over at Hot Boat in the WOW thread.

These fires a very devestating and emotions are running high right now.

California is still a beautiful state.

The fires in Julian have devastated the town, 200 homes burned, 10 killed.  San Diego County in the eastern section is all on fire or has burned. This is really bad….Wish I could do something. Hard to do anything while Im here in Lake Havasu. Everyone is in my prayers in OC. I have a ton of friends and family out that way.

Hey Mike,

Not to give you shit, but So. Cal. is being devastated right now and comments like these are not very sympathetic.  I am from SD and my family still lives there.  My brother-in-law's business burnt down, my sister was evacuated and it is a total mess.  I can honestly say my family could care less if its nice and clear in Havasu.

I am positive you meant no harm but I just wanted to let you know how reading that makes me feel.

Linda, I am so sorry to hear that your family has taken a loss from these insane fires. I will keep you and yours in our prayers.. Hang in there sweetie.

How is Jason doing? Has he fully recovered from his spider bite?

Ciao,

Although the images look really scary most of the wild animals will survive the fires. They actually benefit from the natural regeneration that happens afterwards. Remember wildfires were part of the natural cycle long before we took over.

That being said it is very sad to see all the homes, families, pets, and livestock damaged by the fires. I hope the get control of them soon!

The fires are bad, but wait until the mud slides start.  After our fires last summer, everytime it rains, or during the spring run off, we get massive mud slides.

I've actually talked to a few people who faught to save there homes from the fire, only to have them knocked off the foundation by mud slides.

To everyone in the SD/So Cal area, I know exactly how you feel.  Thoughs and prayers to everyone there.

Linda

Let me set something straight here. I'm sorry if you mis understood my posting. I meant not to say anything bad (and never would) but just putting my two cents in about it being nice here and that it was clear here. Like it is most always. But today we had some smoke blow over for a couple of hours. Not quite sure why everyone seems to target me for posting. I won't meantion any names but there's a couple of other people on this board being much more negitive about the fires than myself. Really didn't appreicate that Linda but you mis-understood me. But that's ok. I'm no ever going to be posting anything more about these fires!!! Seems I'm just getting a very bad rap from it! Really getting tired of it. :angry

I know that the animals will benefit. You are so right about the wildefires being here LONG before we were here.

It sucks to have this much life lost and so many families left homeless.  I heard some very postive kids and it was a blessing. This one kid said " All of the material things can be replaced and the most important thing is my family is alive." This kid was like 14 years old.

I am going to have my kids go through some of my there toys and go donate them to those little kids who lost allot. I know that blankets, clothes and food are needed. I am going to find out more info on where I can donate..

~K~

I probably preaching to the choir here, but just to give an idea of how much smoke is being put out by these fires.  I live about 600 miles away, and right now the visibility is 5 miles in heavy smoke, all from the California fires.

I can not even begin to imagine how bad it is out is So. Cal.

You guys hang in there, we are all thinking about you.

We live on the coast in between all these fires and today we have RAIN/ and some blue sky. It is all due do to wind change. We were told yesterday that even though we can not smell or see the smoke it is like being next to someone smoking.
Today both of my boys are showing some type of reaction to all the smoke. They both have some sort of allergies so I have 1 with his little nose clogged and the other has a little weezing.

Last night Arrowhead towns lost like 300 homes :( .

I am thankful that we have cooler weather..
