Well, I had to say this.... It is so nice to be able to breath finally. I never want to leave California and I can't think of a time in the past that I've wanted to leave, but after this weekend.... It's nice to be out of state.

Granted, I'm not big on driving in the open country during Deer mating season. And I'd give anything to have Miller with me on this trip to shoot the deer that get in front of me on the highway, but it's better than breathing ashes.

BTW, it's all over the news out here in Missouri. Of course, I'm sure they are making it sound worse than it is, calling it California Inferno, but at least I'm getting the news.

How is DD and the place? Is he out of danger? It sounds like the fires are headed up there way through the SD path.

Hope everyone stays safe. I wish I could bring back some clean air and Steak and Shake for you all, but I can't. Just know I'm thinking about you with every breath I take.

You know there are so many people out there without homes now, and my house is just sitting there collecting ashes. I feel so bad. I wish I could do more to help.

My Aunt and Uncle live full time in Big Bear. They are going to meet my parents tonight and stay with them in Indian Wells for a few days.

Phil also ownes a home in Big Bear were im sure his parents may have been able to stay since there house burnt down, but now with the fire closing in on Big Bear things don't look so good..

That's cute... "Shake and Bake." I haven't heard that before.

Steak n Shake is a fast food 50ish dinner that you can drive through or dine in. They make the best hamburgers ever!!! They are only in the mid west, and southeast. They are opening more franchises in the south. But we don't have them yet in Cali.

I got to have them twice while I was in Missouri. :jumpie
