Check this out. My kids are in school today but the disctrict decided that they should take ALL NEXT WEEK off.
WTF is up with that? I have to work. Who is supposed to watch the kids while they keep taking this many days off?
Lucky for me, my Mom is always there for me if I need someone to watch the girls. What gets me is that I shouldn't have to ask her to watch them for a week. A couple days is no problem but a week...

Quote (BigBoyToys @ Feb. 13 2004,6:07 am) | My kids have a 4 day weekend this weekend, and do not have school today or monday. Â Now I know that Monday is Presidents day holiday, which is a holiday that was designed to celebrate the combined birthdays of Lincoln and Washington. Â But WTF is today? Â The kids are telling me that today the schools are celebrating Lincolns Birthday (which was actually yesterday). Â I can't believe how many "holidays" these kids have nowadays! Â Back when I was in school (just a few years ago ) we didn't have half of the days off that these kids have now. Â How do they expect the kids to learn anything if they keep adding more bogus holidays? |
We always had Linclon's birthday (observed) off and Washington's birthday (observed) off. They were usually two weeks apart. Putting them together on this Friday-Monday thing is new though. Good way to get a four day weekend. Can't wait till I'm teaching! I agree they get too much time off though.
Mrs BBT-break a leg on your midterms-mine start next week. Guess how I'll spend my weekend. I wish! Probably more like this
