Wind howling, rain pouring and blowing sideways.  It's supposed to be like this for 2 days :eek   I think we have enough water up here already.  Every lake is at capacity and the creeks, streams, and rivers are overflowing.

Here's the latest satelite image.  I am in Woodland, just 15 miles to the NW of Sacramento....looks like it's just beginning :eek

The national weather service at http://www.noaa.org is calling for Isolated thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday.  Lightning/thunder is rare here but We've sure had alot of it this winter.

Just sitting here in a cold garage, on the computer, listening to the rain pounding on our boats (3 in the driveway) and pounding REAL hard on the Garage door.  Don't know how everyone else in the house can sleep through this :confused

Watch the news today.  I can guarantee you that you will see reports of widespread flooding in NorCal.  We are already saturated from the last storm and there's no place for the water to go :eek
BTW, I'm soaking wet now :angry

Local news just reported wind gusts at 60mph about 5 miles from me at their weather station  :(   I just know that I'm gonna lose a fence, roof, another boat cover, etc.  SOMETHING will happen from this....I just feel it.  Getting a little worried now :eek   But, I like weather so it's fun.....as long as I'm INSIDE sitting in front of the fireplace :good  :D

I can guarantee you he's worried right now then.  Creeks are flooding, American, Feather, and Sacramento Rivers are at or near Flood stage.  They just said on the news that a few areas are already being prepared for evacuation, but not sure where.  The worst of the storm hasn't even hit us yet :eek

Maybe its the American instead of the Yuba river, I'll give him a call here in a bit :phone He's on a small ranch in the middle of farm land and orchards. It doesn't take much to make a mess up there.

Yeah, when it get's like this, they send out Levee patrols that actually drive along the levees hoping to catch potential breaks before they happen.  They don't always catch them but they usually find them by the bubbleing up of water on the "Dry" side.  Hopefully there's no serious flooding this go around.  It's just a mess with the wind blowing and the rain coming down.  That, combined with the predicted Thunderstorms in a few hours, can make it pretty bad.  I expect to lose electricity sometime today.  It's just the nature of the beast.

The Sacramento River at Knights Landing is currently at monitor stage and 4' from flood stage.  If it floods there, I am only 9 miles from there and I'll be in Deep poop

So you know where Woodland is then.  That's where I am.  Woodland is where you turn onto I-5 towards the Airport  from Knights Landing (Road 102/SR 113).  I used to live in Knights Landing also.

My brother worked at a small Kawasaki shop I think in Woodland, is there a guy with a yard full of old tractors right off the 5, I allways remember the tomato plant and those crazy truck drivers wrecking and spilling tomatoes all over the road.

Yeah, that Tomato plant is 2 blocks from my house.  And alot of those tomato truck drivers are not really truck drivers.  Migrant Farm Workers that come up for the season.  Lotsa accidents every year during tomato season.  And they turned all those old tractors into a museum.  Hays Antique Truck and Tractor Museum.  It's right off I-5 and Co Rd 102
