this mother-in-law has had 2 years of break in time.....she's crazy I'm telling you...... she's Bi polor and pops pills on top of that. we have had to pick her up at 3am from the police station cause she's making a sean at wal-mart. We have had it, and if you know anyone with bi polor you would understand. its not a fun thing to deal with

I have a mother-in-law that is a nut job also. She was an investigator and a CHP dispacher after that for a long time so combine Nut Job with Power Trip with Friends in powerful places and you get one whacked out person.
If you ask me, she is bi-polar and so is my soon to be X.
Good luck...

Quote (BigBoyToys @ Mar. 02 2004,11:18 am) | Let me clarify my last post so Mrs BBT doesn't take it wrong. Â I didn't mean anything bad about my mother-in-law...... It's just different. Â Mrs BBT knows what I'm talking about
(Whew, that was close  ) |
there's NO way that my mother in law could live with us....just this morning she has called here twice and when I answer she hangs up the phone like a little child playing games? Its really a very long story but to make things shorter....my husband and I where living in NC and doing great! UNTILL she called us saying that she was going to die? (it was the polor talking) but we didnt know that? so we sold everything we owned to come to havasu so my husband could see his mom before something bad happen. Only to find out that she was'nt goin to die it was the crack head in her talking.....and now we dont speak to her and she ONLY calls here when she's cracked out and wants something.......I feel really bad for my husband after all it is his mother. Crack head or not!

Wow, that's really tuff. Sorry to hear that esp. with your little one due. Psychiatry conditions/relatives are hard to deal with. It takes a lot, and a lot out of you. Psych patients need a lot of rest, good nutrition, meds, and no alcohol! As well as a great doctor. When it comes to you and your man, do what you can.....but remember there's a new one to consider. Only you can decide on how deep you really want to be involved. Sometimes, just for your own sanity and the family's well being.....you need to step away. Is there other people in the family willing to put up with her? If so, maybe you all can share the responsibility of taking care of her. If not, know that it's ok to separate yourselves from her. How much can you really take? And how much should you put up with is an answer only you and your husband can make. Good luck. (I have seen a lot of psych patients in the E.R..)
It's a whole new year! Where my girls at?

I'll just say this, my wife, Mrs BBT, has been taking care of her mother long before I met her, and when I met Mrs BBT I knew up front about the situation. Mrs BBT is a Great wife and daughter. There have been MANY times when I thought that Mrs BBT would not tolerate it anymore and likewise, the same for me. But, we just wait it out and things get back to normal eventually. You'd have to know the situation to completely understand but I'll not disclose anymore since it is not my place to, and out of respect for Mrs BBT, and of course my Mother-in-law.
(Honey, can I have my K-Motor now? )

silver! thanks for the info. We have more or less washed our hands with her. I just feel bad for my husband. But on the other hand he feels the same way. To bad you dont work in the ER here you would probley know her she's in there almost everyday......more so when she's having a spell, they have even kicked her out a couple of times. As for the rest of the family.....there pretty much done also you cant help someone who dont want help its pointless.
