Article in March 04 Powerboat on CO and the Bridgewater Channel.  Too bad the pic was a little old.  Early 90's??

Every time I see pics of Havasu or the River, I just can't believe how crowded it is there.  How do you guys (and girls) even have fun out there with so many boats?  I know, lotsa partying, little boating :drink   But when I go to the lake, I go there with the mindset that I want to be running on the water all day long, and at the speeds I want to.  Only way that can happen is if there is enough room on the lake.  It just looks too darn crowded down there

I go to Havasu and Mohave to have a good time and meet new people, the crowds don't bother me too much.  I don't really race my boat, just cruz so it's no big deal if there are a few people there. :good

The lake is plenty big.  Its just that a lot of people like to hang out with all the other people and they tend to congregate at a few hot spots.  See and be seen, I guess.  The Channel, the sandbar, Copper Canyon and Steamboat being the most popular.  There is a lot of other places and coves to go, as well as run high speeds, just not next to the busy places....

Holiday weekends are always really crowded, so not a good time to go for speed runs, but there are still lots of vacant little coves all over.

We do some exploring, race around a bit, wakeboard and then head to one of those places to hang out and yak with the other boaters.

Without LHC or the river Southern Californians wouldn't have a place to meet their neighbors. No matter what time of the year we go we almost always run in to a couple of people we know. As far as the crowds go... our kids love it and it's all about making memories!!!  :good  :beer  :rotflmao
