UPDATE on this issue:

I looked at the avatar settings on hotboat tonight.  The have something like 1416 standard avatars you can pick to use over there.  When I browsed through them, I found around 15 avatars that I actually host!  What's with that?  They are literally offering our avatars for use over there. :angry  The guy that used mine probably had no clue where it came from. :confused

I just think it's a little hypocritical for hotboat to not allow hotlinking images from their site, but they promote hotlinking from other sites.  I'm sure the vast majority of peeps that select those avatars for use have no clue where they came from. They might not even know if those avatars are already in use if the original owner doesn't even post there.  Sure, anyone can copy and paste anyone else's avatar into their profile, but hotboat is OFFERING them as their own.

Looky_lou is hosting his own.

AZKC's is actually in the hotboat image center as well as KH's banner which kind of makes it their property.

I actually started hosting avatars for peeps even before this board was built as a courtesy. :D  That's how I came to know Kphayes, Miller, and Carrera Elite.

Some of the images are hosted on multiple sites.  Here's a funny one for you.  One of the most viewed avatars on RRL (RD's) is hosted by this site.  No worries though, because Dave is my friend and he is welcome to use it.  RRL and this site are different from hotboat, though, because we are here solely for enjoyment and not for a business interest. We don't have a self generating income to pay 100% of the bill.
