copycat?
This guy not only admires Doug's boat, but his choice in women! I haven't been here in a week or so, so if you all have seen this already, I apologize. Just thought it was interesting.

You could do better then that
I was hoping you would change it to something that would be a shocker next time he was online. |
I couldn't make it too bad because I'm sure that's still my avatar on some of the boards I don't go to that much like Boatxchange, partyboating.com, etc. When I run across them, I will update them to my new avatar.
That's actually Douglas Neidermeyer from Animal House. We had that theme going in the early days of the board. That's why RiverLiver is D-Day.

Quote (Sleek-Jet @ Aug. 18 2004,1:27 am) | My "Wren" (as in Wren and Stimpy) avatar is being used by at least 3 people, no biggy, but if the P-38 shows up on someone esle's profile, I'm gonna have to throw down. Â Â |
I just think it's a little hypocritical for hotboat to not allow hotlinking images from their site, but they promote hotlinking from other sites. I'm sure the vast majority of peeps that select those avatars for use have no clue where they came from. They might not even know if those avatars are already in use if the original owner doesn't even post there. Sure, anyone can copy and paste anyone else's avatar into their profile, but hotboat is OFFERING them as their own.
I'll show the ones I'm talking about...............

I always figured the peeps on here pretty much had their avatar's hosted here. Â
Lou's is the best since they nixed it before, now it's available for anyone. Â |
I actually started hosting avatars for peeps even before this board was built as a courtesy. That's how I came to know Kphayes, Miller, and Carrera Elite.
Some of the images are hosted on multiple sites. Here's a funny one for you. One of the most viewed avatars on RRL (RD's) is hosted by this site. No worries though, because Dave is my friend and he is welcome to use it. RRL and this site are different from hotboat, though, because we are here solely for enjoyment and not for a business interest. We don't have a self generating income to pay 100% of the bill.

Many people have suggested that. I can only think that the reason they don't have one is so that we will advertise in their magazine instead. Have you ever priced those ads?
