I'm convinced that if it hadn't rained, that whole mountain would have burned down . . . Big Bear got lucky.

Raunchy Cowboy, thanks for sharing.  Many of those images brought tears to my eyes.  The sad thing is,  they never caught the SOB who started it.

Thanks for sharing. I have one question......if I may ask.......What about the animals in the pictures? Do you try to save them or do your let them fend for themselves? I know human life and the safety of fire personal is number one, but what's your protocol?

It's a whole new year!

no animal control comes thru and do what they can they work on pets first and the wildlifethey cant do much when a scared critter comes thru the fire line the fire fighters will try to get them away but the critters are so scared that they will run over or attack a person trying to help
one of my bro's got knock down by a big brown bear.
the real sad :(  part is all remains that they found from every thing from bears ,birds, small and large critters. even two humans that try to get home to see if their homes were still there

Thanks for the Santa's Village update :)   I think Silver was referring to the picture with the horses corralled.  I was wondering the same thing.  Did anyone at least open the gate and let them fend for themselves?  You probably don't know the answer, but that was the thought that came into my head when I saw that shot.
