WHy would you want that Kevin? Â Those Jet Hydros are not runners. Â A Jet Hydro doesn't make sense. Â Sure, they look cool, but they work against each of it's own principles. Â Hydro's need to "Blow the tail" to be effective while you need to keep the tail in the water for a Jet. Back in the day years ago, I always wanted one of those Willis Ski Hydros, which were also Jets. Â But, they are not very safe at speeds. Â Look at how much work Jet Hydro at the HB forums has been going through in modifying his to try and make it work. Â It's just not worth it because you are fighting against 2 different engineering principles. I personally would not feel safe in a Jet Hydro going over 70mph max. Â Some people might, but that's just my opinion and I'd take a Gullwing, Picklefork Tunnel, Semi-v Bottom, and even a flatbottom, over a hydro ANYDAY if it were going into a Jet. And yes, I've ridden in one before, and have raced against a few (and won every time).

YEah, but you'd have to do some major cutting on the bottom of it and get rid of that pad that's there. |
Yeah you would but it wouldn't be that hard to do, especially if you could get it at a real good price!.

Quote (BigBoyToys @ Aug. 01 2004,6:16 am) | Well, what's your definition of a good price? Â I personally wouldn't take a bare Jet Hydro hull if it was GIVEN to me. Â Now if it had some hardware or a pump in it, that would be a different story
And don't forget, the Jet Hydro's are the WORST TURNING Jet boats out there today and they don't turn anything like a jet boat in any other type of hull as mentioned above. Â EVen a flatbottom jet turns better that a Hydro Jet |
I'd take a bare one if it was free, if it has hardware I'd strip it sell all the junk, that one's got everything there but the motor, it's got to be worth $2000, the trailer is worth that!..Oh btw, hydros weren't made to turn!.

I don't know man, looks like too much work converting it and still yet another project that I wouldn't have time for. Yeah, I know hydros are not made for turning But since the original intentions of the Manufacturers were to make it a "Lake Hydro", well, I just don't know why they'd build something intended for a weekend family boating trip and have it not be able to turn good

Yep it would be a lot of work for sure, be a fun project though!. I never could figure out why they would made a ski hydro, to me they are a hot rod or race boat, they are not practical for a ski boat!.

Well my idea of off roading is just like having a boat, build a badass truck and trailer it to where you're going to play, that way you don't have to rely on it to get home and you can have fun with it, if you break it you trailer it and take it home!...

I wa sreading some more of the thread and I guess its not a hydro style bottom. Sounds more like a picklefork
