CE, I'm still kicking myself over that call change and it's been years. Â Here's the deal. Â My Novice call was KC6NHL, which is kind of cool because of the NHL. Â When I went to Technician, I only applied for a call change because they had been issueing 1x3's for that class, i.e., N6XXX, which I thought would be cooler. Â My plan backfired because they ran out of 1x3's and reissued me a new 2x3, which was KC6PEI. Â I cried about it, but the FCC just sent me some legal mumbo jumbo saying I was stuck with it.

Hardly. In my F-350, which I rarely drive, I have 440, 2m, 10m, and of course CB. I can't remember the last time I used any of it. I have nothing but a cell phone in my F-150. It's still sort of interesting, but I don't want to spend money on new equipement. All I used my 440/2m handheld most recently for was to listen to the cops. They went to an 800 MHz encrypted trunked system so it's over now.
