ran across some old river house building photos. My grandfather and 3 friends of his had the river house built in nearly a year. Here are a few photos I'd like to share....

the trailer and land my grandfather had there before the river house was built. He had the trailer from 1963-1967.

you know what GFR I'm not sure. Sure it was Indian land just like it has been for years.

here's one of the house being torn down next door to the river house (for what reason I don't know) in 1997. A perfectly good river house leveled! Â :angry

Just wondering because it's weird some land along the river is indian and some ain't. Just like Red Rock is indian and Fox's ain't, I found that out when I tried to buy Fox's 12 years ago!.. :rolleyes

didn't know that. yeah the land we are on is Indian land which sucks. but it's been all good over the years really. Haven't had any problems just of yet but I'm sure something will happen sometime when we'll have to leave the land the river house is on. I pay the lease every six months (on time) and don't have any problems....

yeah I guess they just didn't want any one living there anymore. They could be making money on that land if that house was still standing but guess they didn't want that.

great pics mike - i too am a sixties parkerite - my dad and his brothers bought a about ten lots in the keys in the early 60's, and built the "infamous first a-frame" house in 1968. still standing strong today. now we own two other houses in the middle canals next to rd. anyways, sweet pics, i will try to post some of pics of that era also. :comp

thanks guys, yeah some great photos. I found those photos right after my grandfather, who built the river house a few years ago. My father was going to throw them out in the trash. I then grabbed all of the old river house photos I could find. I'll keep them forever.

That's around the time I got my first bike which was a Yamaha MX-80. Â It had a silver tank with a purple swoosh. What year does that make it? :stupid

I had a Bell helmet that looked like that too. :rotflmao
