Well, the Trojans open their football season today, ranked #1 in the nation and playing against an unranked Virginia Tech.  Even though Mike Williams was not reinstated by the NCAA, I expect USC to win this one handily.  USC by 30 is my prediction.  Watch it on ESPN at 4:40 PT
Anyone else have any opinions and/or predictions?  
After that game is over, I get to Watch the Raiders tear apart Arizona in a pre-season NFL matchup :D  :good   It's televised locally here but I'm not sure if it's televised nationally

Mike Williams really got dealt a dirty deal by the NCAA by making that idiotic decision just as the team was boarding the plane. :angry SC should handle this game by at least 3 touchdowns. :good

man a scary game! SC is going to struggle on offense w/o Mike Williams. Hopefully some of those freshmen will step up really quick. Sure glad Reggie Bush came to play!  :good

not on tv here, I even have the nfl package from directv and its blacked out! wtf I guess I could have just went to see the Raiders live for $30/ticket.  :confused

Well, USC won and the Raiders won. :good   Everybody else can go home :eek  :rotflmao  :rotflmao  :D

I figured USC would beat VT by alot more than that.  Maybe just Season Opener Jitters.  They'll pick it up for the next game.  I think it's BS that the NCAA didn't reinstate Williams, but I guess that's the way it goes sometimes.  Williams should be headed to the NFL next year.
The Raiders did some good things.  I was actually able to stay awake for the whole game this time (Pain meds knock me out if I don't keep moving).  As far as I'm concerned, the Raiders QB issue is an issue.  Gannon only played mediocre IMO tonight and had a few throws off target.  ALL of Collins throws were PERFECT but some of the receivers couldn't catch them even when they were in their hands :rolleyes .  I'm thinking that if they put Collins in with the Starting offense, he'd be racking up some points!  And the Raider's Defense was just AWESOME tonight :good  :good   VERY improved over last year.  I do have a big problem with this "no touching receivers" rule that they are strictly enforcing this year.  I think it's gonna slow the game down by all of the penalties called :rolleyes   There was a call tonight where an AZ receiver fell down, and the Raider DB tripped over him as he was on the ground, and they called the Raider Defender for Illegal Touch, and it was a critical 3rd down which gave AZ a 1st Down and eventually led to points :confused  :confused  :confused   I hate bad refs :beat  :beat

BBT thanks for the Raider Report, I havent seen them play at all during the preseason.  :good

No prob SS.  We have been able to see every preseason game so far because a TV Station in Sacramento is part of the Raiders broadcast network and they are showing all preseason games :good   Now if I could only see all the Regular season games :angry   I usually get all the away games, but the home games are usually blacked out because the games aren't sold out and the NFL has a blackout rule within 100 miles of the Hometown, which I am about 80 miles from Oakland, so I don't get to see home games unless they are sold out :angry
Anyway, Raiders look like they have made a huge improvement from last year, but look for opposing teams to do alot of throwing against the Raiders.  The CB and S on the Raiders haven't done much so far other than get penalties called on them for illegal touch (5 yds, automatic 1st down), but the new Raiders Defensive line is AWESOME!! Look for lotsa sacks and low opposing team rushing yardage this year :good
The new Offensive line looks pretty good too.  I can see Jake Grove and Robert Gallery working their way into the starting lineup, but just the fact they they are not currently starters, should tell ya how good the offensive line is and what kinda depth there is on the line. :good

BBT, thanks again for the update, seems like it could be a promising season. I remember we wouldnt get to see any of the LA Raider games unless they were sold out. We used to get all the games once they moved back to oaktown, until last year when they started sucking hard!

So now I have the nfl package and get to see them every week.  :jumpie
