Here's a cut and past from RD's announcement.....
Well Long Story short the guys puttin this thing on are River Guys and not "Lake" guys so we're a little taken back by the idea of fluctuating water levels. We picked a location that suited all of our criteria which is
Close for the small boats to get too Big for enough boat Parking Beach for Partying Waste deep water for socializing etc.. etc..
Well we picked this location in the winter time, and low and behold when we sent our "recon" boats out there earlier this week they noted that our beach had gtten a little smaller, and our 3' water is now 6' water. hhhmmmmmmm...
We have debated pretty intensely about moving the spot to another location, but that just isn't in the cards as we don't want our small boat guys having to go through all the B.S. and possibly swamping/sinking there boats etc.. as no other location is near, and many people have made accomodations already based upon advise that we have given them of an approximate spot.
We in the end decided to press on with our current picked location (maps will be e-mailed early next week) and make the best of what over all is sill a good situation. (We're thinking people do this all the time in SteamBoat right?)
The little beach that we have left we're going to rope off for the guys that have flat bottoms and smaller jetboats that are not condusive to tieing off with each other because of low freeboard. That way they have a place to park and don't have to worry about there boats. As far as all the big boat guys bring your bouies and bring your anchors!!
There should still be plenty of area to walk around in etc.. but I think when 100+ boats come rollin in some of them are going to start getting into the deeper areas..
I plan on bringing a shitload of inflatables (rafts, tubes, those weird floatie stick things, life jackets) etc for the girls and party'ers in my crew.. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to bring those if ya have them. When we get to the part as well were going to ask one day cruiser style jetboat if they can "shuttle" some people to n from the boats on the out skirts if they need something etc..
I'm figuring the boats will be side tied all the way to the beach so theoretically you should be able to walk it if ya had too.
I'm not really worried about this throwing to big of a wrench in the plan because everyone is coming to party there ass off anyways and god knows with the right crew and a little liquor you can do that just about anywhere.
Any thoughts?

I say use anchors, we can tan and BS boat to boat and those that are 6 feet tall or more can walk others around on their shoulders
