Oh! Man! How horrible! My parents are there this weekend, I hope they weren't there to witness that.

Quote (rivergang @ Sep. 06 2004,2:38 pm) | Eric was with the group that I hang with...I was working this weekend and was not there for the accient. Â My (and his friends) dove after him when he hit the water. Â They swam after him but after 20ft he was just out of range and they had to swim back to the surface. Â He was unreachable after that. Â It was a tragic accident and I feel for his family as much as the people who tried to save him but where unable..... |

I just talked to my mom. Â She said that Erik had hiked to the top and chickened out. Â He walked back down and his friends gave him a hard time and talked him into going back up. Â I feel mostly bad for them. Â They must feel terrible. Â If he had just jumped straight in and not done the flip, I'm sure everything would have turned out fine. Â Unless you're a pro, you have to go feet first. Â It's just really sad, all the way around. Â
Rivergang, I'm sorry about the loss of your friend.
