I've been thinking of completely redesigning my website at http://www.pritek.net and looking for a few ideas as to what the website should be dedicated to and what kind of content it should have.  Originally, the domain was for a Retail computer business that I used to own, named Pritek Computer Systems.  At that time, I had lotsa various IT related stuff on the website, inventory, prices, ISP info, dialup numbers, services offered, etc.  After I closed the store (I was bored with retail, but the store was doing ok, I still am an ISP though), I eventually ended up turning it into our racing website, when we were planning on racing SS Flatbottoms, but that changed with the capsule BS and then we went Drag Boat racing and that's where the website ended up at, where it's content still stands.
I want to do a complete change of it, and do something different with it.  Any ideas?

I thought about building a forum, but there are just so many already that I've decided against it.  Besides, I wouldn't want to compete with this site (The BEST IMO :good )
I've also considered getting rid of the doamin, but my email address is there and it's been that way for many years, so I don't want to change it.  There is also a few "secondary" websites on my domain, websites that I made and host for others.  For the most part though, there are only a few left.  Did I mention that I basically have unlimited space available as well as VERY high bandwith (OC3 Backbone)?  Streaming video wouldn't be a problem even :eek  :D

Oh yeah, and I also have about a 99.99% uptime.  My domain goes down on the average of 1 or 2 hours per year, and that's usually because of the TelCo having issues (Ie; Bad Router) and it only lasts long enough as it takes to switch to the backup line. :good
I have also had a few attempted cyber attacks and DOS (Denial of Service) attempts, but all were thwarted and none succeeded. :good  :comp

Well Jim, since you have very strong opinions and convictions about what's wrong with America, California in particular, why not your own web blog? :)

I enjoy reading what you have to say on these forums  :guns and I'm sure if you put these thoughts out there, others will like them also. :good

You could have feedback posted in your guestbook, picture pages including all your rides and hobbies, plus maybe a page for current political humor. :comp

Just a thought. :beer

Wow!!!  I haven't been to that website in years!!  Brought back lotsa memories.  I think the most powerful "views" are the ones that I wrote on Gun Control and the views on Role Models.  Interesting stuff.  Guess I was even a bitter old man when I was younger :rotflmao  :rotflmao  :rotflmao  :rotflmao

I wouldn't say you were bitter then, just more observent than most. :)

Sorry about your brother :( but I believe in having a shotgun handy also. Way back in '75 when I was truckin' cross-country, some asshole broke into our apartment with the intention of raping my wife. She had something else in mind and splattered :guns the creep across the living room with my Remington 870 riot gun. :good

You wrote some damn good stuff and a lot of it holds true still. :beer

Alot of that stuff was actual essays that I turned in while in college at New Mexico State University.  I forgot all about it until BB brought it back up to my mind.
Yeah, I was pretty vocal back then too I reckon :D

Well, as you can tell by that one on gun control, yes, it was/is a true story.  My brother did commit suicide on Nov. 27, 1983 and I did use that same shotgun later on to defend myself.  My step father now owns that shotgun, even though it is still illegal here in CA :rolleyes
Glad to hear that your wife is smart enough and knows how to defend herself with lethal force :good  and I'm especially glad to hear that your wife was ok :good  :good .
All too often now, folks (Women especially) don't even know how to use a weapon.  And even if they do, fear of using it because of a fear of going to prison (Even when they are the victim) always creeps into ones mind.  Too many loopholes in laws out there and ya just never know....
I know of a few cities now in the USA where it is a REQUIREMENT that every household own at least 1 gun.  Guess what....the crime rate in those cities is nearly nil :good   Then ya have the Gay Bay Area of San Francisco, where it's against the law to own a handgun within the city limits.....wanna guess what their crime rate is?  Yep, it's pretty high.

Oh well, I'm not gonna get too involved on this subject right here now on the forums.  But suffice it to say, I think the idea for a website like that is a good one :good   But it will take lotsa mainenance to keep up with it.
