Good observation Ziggy. Â Yes, I'm Clownpuncher on HB and RRL. Â I've decided to change my name to my intials, ROC. Â I'm thinking it'll be a little more comfortable to explain to my young'ns.
I can here it now..........."Daddy/Grandpa, why do they call you clownpuncher?" Â
Thanks for all the welcomes. Â Looks like a fun place.
If any of ya see me at the river hit me up for a beer and lets have soem laughs. Â I'll be pissed if I hear later on that you saw me but didn't say hello.
So far I've only met a few peeps from the boards....Froggy, great guy, RD, great guy, and a couple others on other boards. Â
Look forward to meeting more.
We usually go to Parker during the week. Â Less crowds on the water. |
You gotta tell me where your Bar/grill is at cuz I always come down the 74 when on my way to the river. How close to the 74/111 intersection are you? I hate driving the I-10 so I bolt thru the Mntns. and skip the madness through Beaumont, etc....much easier to deal with 10 cars than the 10 million on the I-10 Welcome to Dougs again |
Too funny Ziggy. Â As you come down 74 and you get to El Paseo (the intersection right before 111), turn right. Â Go down a few blocks of expensive stores. Â When you get to Lupine, we'll be on the SE corner. Â Look for the little fire tuck golf cart. Â
Make sure you let me know when you'll be cruising by so I can meet ya and buy you a beer. Â Here a map in here somewhere. Â Is this SPAM?
ROC's Firehouse Grille
Honestly, it's a good stopping point on your way home from the river to have lunch/dinner/beer before heading up the hill to SD. Â We serve GOOD food until 1AM too. Â Plenty of room to park your boat on one of the streets.
Funny story. Â Well to me anyway. Â RD came to my place a while bask and had a beer. Â He'd never been over the 74 route so I talked him into it. Â Told him he'd save a few miles and not deal with traffic. Â He decideds he's gonna do it and leaves. Â About an hour after driving up 74 he calls my cell phone and tells me he's ALMOST to the turnoff to go to San Diego, but, he's forced to turn around because of a wild fire. Â Cops wouldn't let him through the intersection. Â He was RIGHT THERE!!!
Needless to say that route didn't save him any time that night. Â I really felt bad for him, at the same time had to chuckle. Â What freakin luck. |
Wow, that close---I will be stopping in one of these trips. Count on it. So you're just beyond the Mini Rodeo Dr. area . Funny you mention that fire..I got turned around by it too but I got all the way within 1/4 mile of where the motorhome had started that blaze(right where the dinasaur on the roof is), they hadn't blocked the 371 at the 74 yet. If I'd gone with my intuition I could have gone down the dirt route(Bautista) into Hemet from Anza and saved about 50 miles. I don't normally tow anymore but I still use that route even if I am towing, doesn't bother me.
