Had a six hour lightning storm and big time wind right over us at the river house in Parker on Monday night September 1st. It was so awesome. I swear I saw lightning striking everywhere around me for over 6 hours. I used my new olypmus digital camera to capture the images. I had the shutter open for 16 sec at a time. The photos turned out ok and some are blurry. Need to work on that. Still figuring the camera out. It's not easy to use! :comp

Thanks! Now that I have my new digital camera and can leave the shutter open at 16 secs at a time, I'll be able to capture the bitchin lightning bolts. Stay tuned, monsoon season isn't over yet! :jumpie

Mike cool pics! I also got to see the storm first hand. My wife and I watched it for about four hours from the Nautcial Inn. It was very cool we dont get storms like that in ontario. The wind blew so hard thursday night it blew over trees in the channel. and there was so much rain it washed out the beach from the tie up wall in the channel.

Ya we were there it was great! Ive never seen so much rain in so little time. It did alot of damage. I pulled my boat out about 4:00pm and what was really funny I went to check on the boat after the rain stoped and the automatic bilge pump was on must have pumped out three gallons. :good

Wow! I was in Parker at my river house when the storm hit. It was so insane and there was severe thunderstorm warnings all over the television that night. If you go to my Topic (Biggest Storm Yet) you can see what images I captured from that Thursday night.

Nice Pics :good   I love thunderstorms.  I had a bolt of lightning hit about 50 feet from me once and it nearly knocked me on my rear.  After I got my hearing back, I went right back to sitting down watching the storm :D

since I can't reply to the Monsoon thread AZKC posted, I watched the news yesterday and monsoon season here in AZ officially has not started yet. It's getting of to a late start. When the dewpoint averages 55 degrees or higher for 3 consecutive days then that is the start of the monsoon season. Just a little high presure in Mexico is causing moisture to stream into your area this evening...
