Well, as some of ya's know, we have sold all but 1 boat and have gotten into a new hobby.  Myself, I am now collecting firearms, and concentrating on Original US Military firearms.  I have collected a few over the past month and we have purchased a few others also.  I have also applied for my FFL C&R Collectors License and am considering applying for an FFL to sell firearms and also gunsmithing (I have had formal training in Gunsmithing years ago) and would also like to get a class III license (Fully Automatic/Destructive devices- NFA ACt stuff)  It's turning out to be an expensive "Hobby" but I really think that it's cheaper than the boats :rolleyes  :D  :good

Mrs BBT on the other hand, she loves guns too and is a VERY good shot! :good   I think she could probably out shoot me even!  We'll see tomorrow morning when we go down to the Shooting range with my new H&K USP40 versus Her Bersa .380 :D   I should win this one tomorrow ;)   Mrs BBT is also VERY interested in getting into the "Cowboy Action Shooting" with SASS and I think that's TOTALLY COOL!!!  Some of the best Cowboy Action Shooters in the World are women.  Anyway, we will be going to a CAS event this Sunday and Next Sunday, doing some scouting on what firearms everyone is using.  For those that know Mrs BBT, can you picture her with a Single Action Revolver on each hip, along with a lever action rifle and a side by side shotgun in each hand?  Wow!! What a visual!  It's gonna happen.....I've given her the ok to buy all the guns necessary to compete and she'll be on her way soon :good   I think the biggest problem will be picking out a name, since everyone is required to pick an alias of the Cowboy era.  Any ideas for her alias????

Sounds like a fun deal  :good We didn't do the cowboy deal though, we did the tactical combat stuff, what a blast!. :good  Don't know about cheap though, the wife and I both have 1911's and we spent a fortune in them and they are still not done :laugh The wife has a Mosberg pump that's been turned into a fighting machine, man did that cost some $$$$$$$ but it is sweet!..I have a Binelli super M90 pre ban, that is one bad ass fighting machine but it ain't cheap to begin with and by the time you have it fine tuned,  :eek Like they say, it's only money!.. :laugh

Hey Jim you might want to watch your Ps and Qs around Mrs. BBT now. :eek  A few things you stated come to mind.

"Fully Automatic/Destructive devices"

"she loves guns too and is a VERY good shot!    I think she could probably out shoot me"

We had a great time shooting today.  Both Mrs BBT and I were on target, but I think I may have gotten the better scores, but that is probably because the USP40 that I was shooting was more accurate than Mrs BBT's .380 Bersa Thunder.  I really enjoyed shooting my new USP40 Compact today, and after shooting it, I can say that I'm VERY pleased with the performance of it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great self-defense gun that is an easily concealed carry firearm. :good   Now if I can only talk this dang Sheriff into approving my CCW application.....

:guns Me too. :good  I'll try to find some pics from back in the day. :D  I used to go to this place called Lytle Creek.  All the road signs leading into and out of the canyon were riddled with bullet holes. :guns  :rotflmao

We, also, had this device that blasted 900 grains of black powder at a time. :eek  I got some video of that thing going off too. :eek  :good

Yep, that's the one that I just purchased, except mine is the two tone one with the Stainless Slide.  I love it!  I expect to be shooting it about 100+ rounds per week for a while.  Just signed up for a yearly membership at an indoor range about 30 minutes from the house.  It's a great range to shoot at and the private range is reserved for members only but they also have another range for everyone.  We even purchased a case of Full Body size Targets :good .  We're still gonna get into the COwboy Action Shooting stuff, probably mostly for Mrs BBT, and I will probably get into some IPSC Match Target shooting soon with the big bore rifles.  I'm currently looking at a SOCOM M1A (M14) .308 That I want to buy, but Mrs BBT is raising the old eyebrow at the price.  I figure after I get her Cowboy Action Shooting firearm (2 Single Action Revolvers, 1 Lever Action Rifle, 1 Side by Side shotgun) then I'll hit her up for my SOCOM rifle ;)  :D  :good   I'm looking at getting Mrs BBT 2 Ruger Vaquero Bisley Single Action .357mag Revolvers with 5 1/2" Barrel, and maybe a Winchester model 94 in a .357mag Caliber.  I figure that if the .357mag Cowboy Load is too much for her, we'll drop down to a .38spl and that should be fine. I believe that a pump shotgun is legal in SASS but you can only load 2 shells at a time.  If that's the case, she can just use the 870 20ga that I just got for her since she is already a great shot with it (19/20 on the clay pigeons :eek ), in fact, she is consistently outshooting me with the shotgun.  But not for long :D  :laugh
I've experimented with "Homemade" firearms in the past, but that was MANY years ago and I will no longer do that (Too dangerous and against the law).  As soon as my FFL is approved and I receive it, it's on and I'm gonna be all over the place buying firearms.  In the meantime, I'll just keep on selling boat parts to afford our new hobby ;)

Here's one just like mine on GUNBROKER.COM and it's a STEAL at ONLY $539.00!!!!  Wish I would have seen that before I got mine.  Only difference is I have 2 clips and they have the thumbrest on them.  Also, although the auction says that this is a right hand model, if you look at the decocker lever you can see that this one is setup for left hand.  However, that is SIMPLE to change it over as the pistols are ambidextrious and easy to change from left to right, or vice-versa

I used to do alot of shootin' in another life...I also got into cookin' some pretty darn good chili. Called it "Charlie Goodnight" chili after one of the biggest cattlebarons in the southwest...pretty mean sumbitch I hear tell.

His wife Molly was hard as nails and could shoot with the best of 'em.

How about Molly Goodnight?  :good  Sounds good at the end of a long hard day.

I think Mrs. BBT's nickname should be Belle Starr (if it's not already taken)  she is one of my favorite western historical characters.  Mrs. BBT is probably not as wild as her, but she was a very interesting person.

My neighbor is big into SASS and  they have shooting at his ranch twice a month.  They get all dressed up.  It's very cool  :good

DAO, or double-action decock??  My carry gun is DAO, when I buy my next one it's going to have a decock. so after the first round it's a nice crisp single action for the rest of the festivities.   :guns  :guns

Congrats :good  :good   You'll love it!  Did you get the V1?  It has all the options on it and is the most common of the 9 variables available.  Mine is a V1.  If it is, that will answer Sleek's question also since a V1 is a DA/SA with decocker.  It's a waaayyyy cool handgun and can be carried "cocked and locked".
Congrats again on the purchase :good  :good  :good   Now ya gotta go out and find some of that exploding ammo with tracers.  It looks like fireworks going off if shot at night time :D  :D  :good  and I'd be willing to bet that it could do a number on a bad guy too :guns  :guns  :guns

The "cocked and locked" feature is one reason I got this gun, The gun has a great feel to it.

Well.... "cocked and locked" means that one round is in the chamber and the hammer is pulled back (cocked), with the safety on (locked).   Some people carry 1911's this way, since they are single action.  De-cocking guns like the H&K's, Sigs, Para-ordinace, ect.. you guys are so fond of aren't cocked and locked becuase the hammer isn't back, and there is no safety.  They are loaded with one in the pipe, but not cocked and locked.  It takes a double action pull of the trigger to fire the first round.  I like my DAO safety wise, but the trigger wears you out if you do a lot of shooting with it.

Oh yeah, it's magazine, not "clip".

OK, I'm done now.  :D

It's a waaayyyy cool handgun and can be carried "cocked and locked".

The H&K USP is a cocked and locked gun with a 4lb triger cocked and a 10lb uncocked. You can cock and lock the H&K USP :rolleyes  :D
