Hey guys and gals, looks like I'm about to join the 21st century and buy a digital camera (so I can post pictures of the boat project, my truck engine swap, trips to the lakes, you get the idea).

Any suggestions? I have some pretty slick 35mm equipment, but am totally in the dark (pun intnended..lol) of digital cameras.

If you want to take good pictures running your boat at high speeds get at least 3.0 or higher. The new features offered on the new digital cams is awsome. Look forward to the pic's. Will be taking some tomorrow at smellsomemore at RWYB. I'm currently working on getting my new motor together to break it in. I don't think it's going to happen. Will show up and have a few and get to meet the member of the board. Good luck on the camera search. Laaater

For me I take them with the highest resolution possible so when they are reduced for size they still maintain quality.

I got a 4.0 megapixel digital camera recently and I love it. :love

It's a Sony DSC-S85 with a 128 MB memory stick. I takes MPEG video with sound as well. I took this shot today at the 1600 pixel wide setting and resized it down to 640 wide to post.

I got a Sony DSC-P50 7 or so months ago and have been impressed with the pictures it takes. It will shoot MPEGs without sound, but the still pictures are great. An example of the quality is available in the photo gallery on this site where HD stole all my pictures from RD's birthday and posted them.

Well, after a couple hours of futzing around the camera stores and the electronics stores I am now the proud owner of an Olympus C4000. 4.0 megepixal, most of the bells and whistles, resonable price.

I looked at some of the SLR digitals, holy sh*t! Some of those cost more than my boat! I think I'll keep my AE-1 for a little longer as well.

Stay tuned, I'll be taking pictures tomorrow.

I've actually had that same sticker on my truck for 7 months and it's EXTREMELY rare that anyone says they checked out the site because of it. I'm STILL waiting for a fellow hotboater to honk and wave at me on the freeway.
