I am in need of a picture of a cool looking marine alternator if anyone has one they would be willing to allow me to place on a web site, please send to linux@btwixt.com, Â One with chrome or anything that looks radical. Â Must be able to edit picture just to have the alternator, if this is possible.

Maybe I should have been more detailed. Â AZKC I like the picture needs a little more light. Â We are in the process of opening a alternator shop. Â Our ecommerce sight will be exclusive to marines alternators because of the price some others charge. Â The site will be www.marinealternator.com. Â We need a really sharp alternator that we can do some graphic facelifts to give the intro Flash a really nice and cool look. Â That is what I do for a living I develop web sites and software and do complete web hosting. Â If you ever need web hosting check out www.btwixt.net. Â We have it all for $7.95/Month. Â I partner with business people who have great ideas and no web experience. Â I collect a certain percentage of gross revenue for so long as my take of development and marketing. So I have someone who approached me with the marine alternator line. Â He can build a 200A for about $200.00. Â He is roughly a $1 an amp until you get to the really low end stuff, then he has more in the case. Â We spent the fourth at Pickwick Dam (sorry no pics. Â I jump in where I thought it was shallow only to discover there was a hole there. Had the camera around my neck. Â I am hoping the disc dries out). Â Anyway we sold 4 alternators to bass loving freaks. Â So I do think the business idea will work. Â We hope to have the site live and the warehouse stocked with the common alternators prior to coming out there on the Labor Day.

What does he do? That is a good question. It has a different casing, He polishes the fan and pulley's. Other than that I am not really sure, I know it has Marine Alternator stamped on the casing. I am sure there is something different about it and I will check.

Quote (AZKC @ July 06 2003,3:33 pm) | I'll see what I can do What does he do to make it  a marine alternator? 200 amp sounds cool that'll keep that stereo bumpin

Marine alternators do not spark at all, due to the explosion hazards. All the inner mechanisms are designed and certain materials use to make the alternator spark free. He guarantees that the alternator is such.
