FYI...for those of you who haven't heard by now, and who knew Seanne....very sad...just a reminder that there will be a memorial service for Seanne in Manhattan Beach on Friday June 6th at 7pm on the beach between 2nd and 3rd Streets, followed by a wake at 220 Manhattan Avenue in Manhattan Beach. :(

The World Party lost a beloved member of our family over Memorial weekend due to an accidental drowning. Seanne McLay was vacationing at Lake Havasu, Arizona where he and friends took boats out to Copper Canyon, a popular place for people to jump off the rocks into the lake.  He climbed up to jump, and contrary to some reports he did not hit a part of the cliff on the way down, he simply landed the wrong way.  It is indicated that he was knocked unconscious and quickly sank.  Since the water depth is about 40 feet, making it impossible for the people who dove in to find him, emergency services were called and divers were able to recover him.

Seanne McLay was, is, and will always be one of the best friends to all of us who knew and loved him. He left this world doing what he loved most and that was having fun with his friends on a great new adventure, experiencing life to the fullest. Seanne was larger than life, with his infectious smile, cocky yet positive attitude, charming personality, and outrageous sense of humor. Known by some of us as “Cheese”, a nickname that he embraced because of his many cheesy comments and actions, Seanne never took himself too seriously, but could share a tender moment with us when we needed him to.

Seanne will be laid to rest on Sunday, June 1 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Roswell Funeral Home at 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA (770) 993-4811.  A service will be held at 3:00 p.m., and will be presided over by the father of Seanne's girlfriend, Adrienne.  He will be placed next to his Grandfather, whom he loved so much. HIs family asks that you send your condolences ! to his mother Phyllis McLay at 18102 Harvest Ridge Lane, Anderson, SC 30022, or his father Bill McLay, at 416 Ashley Downs, Anderson, SC 29621.

The McLay family also asks that in lieu of flowers, to please make a donation to The American Cancer Society in Seanne's memory.  You can actually go online to www.cancer.org and click on Donate.  Both Seanne’s Mother and Grandmother are breast cancer survivors.

There will be a memorial service for Seanne in Manhattan Beach, California on Friday June 6th at 7pm on the beach between 2nd and 3rd Streets, followed by a wake at 220 Manhattan Avenue in Manhattan Beach.

Please take some time to let his family know just how much we all loved him, and that his life meant so much to all of us.

Our prayers go out to his family, the many friends he made over the years, and his girlfriend Adrienne whom he loved very much.

Seanne McLay is missed and will be so until we see him next.

RIP

I hope that his family and friends are doing OK.

He was definitely enjoying himself when he went.

I witnessed his jump (flip) and many people, including a guy from our boat made a valiant effort to try to find him when he didn't surface.

I think it would be good idea to have at least one of the wave runner cops out their to have diving equipment on board. The cops were at the scene within 1 minute but they only had masks a snorkels. Nobody could dive deep enough. It was at least a half hour before divers arrived.

Even though I didn't know him, this was a very difficult thing for me to deal with. I just hope his family and friend are OK.

Wow, That is terrible.  I did not know him, but he sure looks like the life of any party....My condolences.

I read there were four deaths in Havasu and one in Parker over the long weekend.  Kinda scary to think about.  You go out for a fun time, but bad things can still happen.

Best be careful, and keep out a watchful eye for others too.

How did you find out about all the deaths? 1 in Parker and 4 in Havasu? Is there somewhere on the net I can read up on this?

I had only read about 3 deaths. 2 drowning and 1 PWC accident.

Check out this news link. Havasu News.

I saw it on Wednesday after Memorial Day weekend when I got home.

Use the search function on their site.

Do a search of drowning and you will find it.

What a tragedy, that someone so young died a senseless death. Eventhough he was having a good time prior, it just goes to show that sometimes things happen when you least expect them too. My condolences go out to his girlfriend, friends, and family. -DD  :(

No, I didn't know Seanne.  ParkerRiverRat actually sent me that info to post as it would be of interest to the peeps here.  I already knew it hit close to home because of the location, but looky_lou actually witnessed it. :(
