What the hell happened to manners and being considerate of others? I am getting really sick of rude people that have no consideration of other people. Why is it that people have to be so rude? Why do I have to deal with rude aggressive drivers every time I head out on the road? Why is it that when I am patiently waiting in a line there is always some jerk that tries to cut in front of me. Why is it that when I am trying to enjoy a peaceful quiet moment somewhere I have to deal with someone’s obnoxious heavily medicated child screaming and destroying everything?  Why do I have to see litter on the side of the road on my way to work?

This country use to be a beautiful place full of people that wanted to better themselves and their families. Now it is just a group of lazy rude people that have no respect for anything!

Just my two cents and could be off the mark but I think some of it is "I got to get mine before you get yours thinking"  I do believe that mass hyper consumerism drives people to act the way they do, always running and trying to outdo others or buy the latest and greatest things or shiny shit.  I disconnected my cable and vary rarly watch tv  as it is nothing but crap and marketing bs non stop, if people would live within their means and not get sucked into all the marketing crap I think it might change some of it not all of it.

I jacked some Alice up on the ramp this weekend after three days of dealing with the shit these idiots do.

Yes I think that you are correct. It is rare to find people living within their means these days.

I completely understand what you are saying about your cable. I haven’t watched the news for along time now and have found that I am not missing anything. I selectively read news on the internet and have to sift through all the garbage to read the real news. I found that watching the nightly news just reaffirmed to me that our society is degrading more and more each day.

I wish people would take responsibility for their actions. But that too is rare these days. I think it is time for me to start looking for a Job in England again.

That is funny I was just talking to a guy who bought a house in montana for 6600 and using for a duck hunting shack and I was thinking move there grow your own stuff and get away from the tards.

I think people think the gubment is here to raise their kids, and they let them run wild, I long for the days of hot wheel tracks used as paddles and the paddle hanging in the principals office and you were told dont do anything wrong and you wont get it, but with all this pc shit you cant disiple your child, although I would not hesitate spanking my kid if he had it coming but he knows were the lumber lies and when I tell him to do something it gets done.

I also think there is a great dumbing down of the population to which I think they use rudness to cover their stupidity.

My father spanked me and I think it was completely justified. He had a simple but effective system. Ask, Warn, Spank. He would ask me not to do something and if I did it again he would warn me not to do it or I will get spanked and then finally if I kept doing it I would get spanked. It taught me that there are consequences to all your actions.

In all reality my father only spanked me a handful of times. Because of the fact that the punishment was known and he was consistent he rarely had to take it that far. I knew that when he asked me not to do something I shouldn’t do it.

No one takes responsibility for their actions or the actions of their children anymore. It is always someone else’s fault.

I am so fed up with our society!

Good for him, my mom spanked me but I had it coming.  I thanked her for sticking to her guns and raising me the way she did.

Not all peeps are like that, I keep an eye on my kid and he is my responsiblity to raise as a member of the comm.  I too give him the tell, warn, 123 dealio, when we get to three he usually goes to his room.

It is pretty sicking like my buddies say you could kill off 85% of the people and things would be much better.

I couldnt agree more with Miller. The older I get, the more considerate that I make an effort to be. However, when someone crosses the line, then I drop the hammer on em. Not to make a peacenik speech, but if people OCCASIONALLY thought of other people before themselves, things would be much better in this world. I am pretty sure that at some point in the not too distant future, we will be moving the hell out of California, and somewhere else where the pace of life is much slower. I for one cant wait for Cali to make it illegal to talk on cell phones when you drive, cos that it one of the biggest things that pisses me off.  -DD Out :angry

About the moving out of Cali thing.

I live in SW Colorado, and we have our fair share of Califonication going on here.  Miller, T&B, Blown, Looky  your welcome here anytime, since it sounds like you'd all make one hell of a Colorado good 'ole boy, but the F***ing money grubbing, trophy house buying, F*** the locals I live here for two weeks out of the year, price raising, traffic inducing, ultra left wing close the forest cocksuckers, let's make this place just like California,  can stay on the left coast.  It's getting so bad, I'm thinking about leaving, but where does a guy go from here.  :stupid

I'm with Blown, a nice cabin in the woods doesn't sound so bad at times.

Oh yeah, I haven't had cable or TV going on 4 years now, don't miss it at all. :good

Okay, here's my two cents...  I travel all over the country and I've concluded that NO ONE can drive.  It doesn't matter what your driving habits are, someone else is going to be annoyed by you and you will be annoyed by them.  I hear it all the time in airports "I hate it when people drive to slow." "I hate it when people drive to fast."

Here's a thought for a solution... :stupid They need to just create lanes with specific mph in them eg.. #1 lane= 55mph to 65mph, #2 lane = 65mph - 70 mph, (if more than three lanes keep adding up by 5mph) and the fast lane should have a min of 70mph and only at that speed for passing people in the #2 lane.

Mini vans should NEVER under ANY circumstances be allowed in the fast lane (not even to pass).  :angry

Cell phone use while driving should only be done with a headset or by an experienced driver/cell phone talker (several years of experience required) and then post a sticker or something on the window authorizing use.  If someone is talking on the phone that does not have this sticker or a headset, anyone should be legally allowed to run into them with no legal consequences. :phone :fight

All cars should have bumpers on them that allow you to ram into ass holes for cutting you off or driving like an idiot.  If you get hit then you've learned your lesson.  :rolleyes

I could go on forever about drivers, but I won't.  :angry

Miller, I hate to admit this, but I’m one of those people that is considered an aggressive driver. :eek And I get some serious road rage when people drive like they have nowhere to be (below the speed limit really kills me :angry).  I drive all the time and I don't like to be on the road longer than I need to be.  I just want to get to my destination.  If people like to just cruise they should do it on bikes, take the bus, or walk.  I don't have time for them to window shop out of their cars.

Okay, that's it for the driving thing.  As for people being rude.  I have to admit it is a California thing mostly, but it's growing.  I hate the weather in the south, but the people are always so considerate and polite.  It's almost scary sometimes.  If the weather wasn't so crapy that's where I'd go.

Ughhhh, Miller you got me going :angry…. I have to stop or I’ll make a book out of this.

One of my pet peeves is fast inconsiderate drivers. I live in a rural community and my morning and evening commute consists of rural country roads. They are not the place to be speeding. But the influx from down south seems to think that the rat race mentality should be carried on up here as well. I can’t tell you how many times I have had some jackass riding my ass on our curvy country road that goes to my house. I am not really a confronting type but I have stopped several times and got out and walked up to the car behind me and yelled “What the fuck are you thinking you dumb fuck!” I have a real problem with that.

On a similar note I had some jackass in front of me the other day that decided to toss his cigarette out the window when he was stopped at a stop light. I got out of my car picked up the burning cigarette tossed it into his car through his open window and politely informed him that the world is not his ashtray.

Are you one of those people that thinks tossing your trash out the window is acceptable?

If that is the case I probably would toss it back into your car.

By the way nice to meet you! :rolleyes

One of my favorite things to do is set my car on cruise control at the speed limit and see how many cars I can get piled up behind me...then call one of the local cops I grew up with and have them nab every one that passes me  :D

As for the guy that got the cig tossed back into his car...he did nothing but fish around in his car for the burning cig...no time to deal with anything else  :D
