Well we hit 5,000 posts today.  The funny part is that's between around 70 members and RiverDave's post count on hotboat beats this whole board's count. :rotflmao

Well the reference to RD was my second thought when I realized 5,000 is not that much for a combined post count.  I wouldn't slam RD though. (He's my connection at Parker. :rotflmao )  Really though, I appreciate RD's hospitality, knowledge, and entertaining posts. :cool

I was'nt slamming RD...just joking and throwin out there..6K posts is a lot no matter how slice it...and like all us posting on these boards really extends your circle of boating friends...also, if you ever need a place to stay in Havasu, and RD's place is full, you are welcome at our Casa de Polynesian :)

Thnx for reminding me (River Liver making sure the world is round)...I get on Havasu Doug's site and the word Havasu starts flowing....I meant Parker, not Havasu....but we are only a mile from Take Off Point, so if you get the Havasu itch, it is short drive

I agree Parker is the best of both... but I think if I ever retire, it will probably be in Havasu....Havasu is much more friendly to the silverhairs...and it is more of city if you had to live there...I will always keep Parker, but I have been looking for property to get now so we can build in 10 years...Places and Property are just going through the roof there now...

Maybe I can rename this place ParkerDoug.com? :rotflmao  Seriously though, for whatever reason, I got my start in Havasu, but I love Parker too!  I would LOVE to have a house in the keys! :love

The keys are great, and it would be nice to have a place there, but I enjoy where we are at up near the dam, and there are other places on the river I would rather be than the keys....For swimming purposes...the water in the keys does not really move, and just does not seem as clean as the water that is moving constantly outside the keys...now if you had a house in the keys and was river front, well you are da shit... :)  :D  :)

Right on! It's all good! I just can't wait to own anywhere out there. All I have right now is timeshare. :(  The next step is a better boat though.  In the meantime, I'll have plenty of time to check out ALL of the locations. :D

I've been thinking a lot on the subject of where I'd buy/build on the river.  Used to be Bullhead because I like laughlin and Lake Mojave.  These days though, I really think I'll be going to Needles when the time comes.  I like being right off the frwy, making it the easiest of all of the river destinations to get to IMO.  I like being 20minutes from Havasu or Mojave.  The water is still nice there for skiing and tubing with kids.  There's great beaches.  The gorge is awesome.  The wild party scene is only a short, yet scenic boat ride away.  As far as what it has over Parker, it's just different strokes for different folks.  There's not a great place to hang out with the kids in the Parker, IMO.  I'd get bored with the same 11 miles to play in (we like to get off on our own), although it's not too from Havasu Springs.

Would I take a house in the keys?  hell yeah. It's a great place.  WOuld I rather be on the river itself in Parker, probably.  Havasu is nice and I'd go there too, but many of the houses tend to be a ways from the water.

I wouldn't be surprized to see myself getting a trailer in Needles in the year or two though...... ;)

RTJas :D

Good call Jason. :cool  My favorite spot on Havasu is the sand bar, which is just as close to Needles as the London Bridge.  Plus, coming downriver to the sand bar through the gorge is much more scenic.  Plus you're closer to Laughlin and the drive is shorter. :cool
