Hello everyone! This looks like a cool forum, but lets get this over with- I have an Outboard!!! I hear V-drives are pretty popular here, but don't be too harsh (I'm new....)

The motor is a 87' Merc 200 with a CLE lower unit (nose cone & low water pickup) Right now it's getting a exhaust tuner and relief holes drilled (four 1/2 inch holes on each side of the lower unit). It has a Bob's jack plate and Mazco Chopper prop- I think it's a 26". Not as loud a big 454, but it will be louder.....

Nice boat! Looks fast- How much setback do you have?? Are you able to trailer it with the engine down or do you tilt it up? Are there braces inside your boat to the transome?

Damn, haven't you sold that boat yet? Â |
Nope, I'm sure you noticed that I don't mention it very much either! I do get a lot of tire kickers and dreamers though!..

You better watch out for the noise nazis. |
The holes haven't been drilled yet- how much louder do you think it will be?? Should I worry about the "noise nazis" at Havasu or Parker?? I see jets and v-drives all the time that have got to be 100x louder than any outboard, are noise restrictions getting more strict??

I dought that you have any worries at the river!, now if you make a pass right in front of one of them "noise nazis" well, that's another storry!.. Noise restrictions are pretty well the same, the law says you have to make an attempt to make it quieter!..
