I'm not sure if this is something that concerns you, but if you are interested in "internet privacy" you may be interested in this:
The Reverse Directory at Google allows anyone who has a phone book or caller ID to look up your address and get a map to your location.
You can have it removed if you do not want the world to know where you live by doing the following steps:
1) Go to www.google.com
2) Type in your full telephone number like this 555-123-4567
3) If your number appears in the mapping database, an icon resembling a telephone will appear to the left of the entry on the results page.
4) Click on this telephone icon and it will take you to a page containing a description of this service and a link to request that your number be removed. (it's a small link at the bottom of that section)
5) If your children have their own phone number you might want to check it as well
