Thought I'd move this over here and keep on topic....

Quote (Mrs big boy toys @ Mar. 18 2003,7:59 pm)"
God Bless all of our men and women in the armed forces....
Me personally I take offense to putting our military down in any way. I have 2 nephews one is in the Marines and he is stationed out of Camp Pendleton. but is now on the USS Essex in Okinawa Japan. My other nephew is in Kuwait.I'm so very proud of them. My father was in the Air Force for over 20 years. I was a military brat must of my younger years.  I'm all for getting that terrorist out of Iraq. The courage these men and women have are to be commended. If it wasn't for them RD wouldn't have been able to speak freely.
UNITED WE STAND....
------------------------------------------------------------

Hate to break the news to ya Marina, but here's the deal right now.
Kenny (US Army 82nd Airborne) is currently in a "forward position" on the Kuwait/Iraq border.  Since his specialty is an "advanced" specialty where he goes in early with handheld missiles in preparation for a larger force, I expect him to be going in soon....if he isn't already in Iraq. Here's the latest on his position "The deployed soldiers include a quick-reaction brigade combat team, which has as many as 4,000 soldiers. Also ordered to deploy were 18th Airborne Corps support elements consisting of the 35th Signal Brigade and 525th Military Intelligence Brigade. A portion of the 82nd Airborne is in Afghanistan."  But, as we know by the phone and letters, Kenny is not in one of the groups in Afghanistan and is indeed in Kuwait....

Josh (US Marine Corp 1st div, 2nd Bat, 4th MAR Weapons) is also in Kuwait on the Iraq border.  They will be 1 of the first groups going into Iraq.  The USS Essex is back at it's home port and the Marines that were aboard have joined their home based divisions. Here's the latest on his position "The Pentagon ordered some units of the 45,000-member expeditionary force to deploy to the Persian Gulf region to join thousands of other American troops preparing for a possible war with Iraq. Roughly 7,000 Marines from the 1st Marine Regiment and about 3,000 sailors left San Diego January 17, 2003. The Marines and sailors left San Diego aboard the amphibious assault ships USS Bonhomme Richard and USS Boxer, amphibious transport dock ships USS Cleveland and USS Dubuque, and dock landing ships USS Anchorage, USS Comstock and USS Pearl Harbor.
More than 1,000 Marines from the 1st MEF are already in Kuwait at Camp Commando, a desert base camp near Iraq."

By the way......Don't go giving this info to mom since, well, you know her.  Let her think that they are somewhere else....

I'm now going to be on the edge of my seat watching and listening to the news. I love them both and pray that they are going to be ok.....This is one of the hardest things to do sit and wait...I know that they are very well trained and they have no doughts about being there doing what they love to do, Making sure they stop the terrists before they come after us again. to Protect our freedom and our lives.God be with all our men and women, and their familys as we wait.

OK, let's just say for a moment you bunch of pampered, overpaid, unrealistic
children had your way and the U.S.A. didn't go into Iraq.

Let's say that you really get your way and we destroy all our nuclear
weapons and stick daisies in our gun barrels and sit around with some white
wine and cheese and pat ourselves on the back, so proud of what we've done
for world peace.

Let's say that we cut the military budget to just enough to keep the
National Guard on hand to help out with floods and fires.

Let's say that we close down our military bases all over the world and bring
the troops home, increase our foreign aid and drop all the trade sanctions
against everybody.

I suppose that in your fantasy world this would create a utopian world where
everybody would live in peace. After all, the great monster, the United
States of America, the cause of all the world's trouble would have disbanded
it's horrible military and certainly all the other countries of the world
would follow suit. After all, they only arm themselves to defend their
countries from the mean old U.S.A.

Why you bunch of pitiful, hypocritical, idiotic, spoiled mugwumps. get your
head out of the sand and smell the Trade Towers burning. Do you think that a
trip to Iraq by Sean Penn did anything but encourage a wanton murderer to
think that the people of the U.S.A. didn't have the nerve or the guts to
fight him?

Barbara Streisand's fanatical and hateful rankings about George Bush makes
about as much sense as Michael Jackson hanging a baby over a railing.

You people need to get out of Hollywood once in a while and get out into the
real world. You'd be surprised at the hostility you would find out here.
Stop in at a truck stop and tell an overworked, long distance truck driver
that you don't think Saddam Hussein is doing anything wrong. Tell a farmer
with a couple of sons in the military that you think the United States has
no right to defend itself. Go down to Baxley, Georgia and hold an anti-war
rally and see what the folks down there think about you. Please visit
Clarksville, Tennessee and the 101st Airborne and talk that way, please
visit those Real American's.

You people are some of the most disgusting examples of a waste of protoplasm
I've ever had the displeasure to hear about.

Sean Penn, you're a traitor to the United States of America. You gave aid
and comfort to the enemy. How many American lives will your little, "fact
finding trip" to Iraq cost? You encouraged Saddam to think that we didn't
have the stomach for war. You people protect one of the most evil men on the
face of this earth and won't lift a finger to save the life of an unborn
baby.

Freedom of choice you say?

Well, I'm going to exercise some freedom of choice of my own. If I see any
of your names on a marquee, I'm going to boycott the movie. I will
completely stop going to movies if I have to. In most cases it certainly
wouldn't be much of a loss.

You scoff at our military who's boots you're not even worthy to shine.
They go to battle and risk their lives so ingrates like you can live in
luxury.

The day of reckoning is coming when you will be faced with the undeniable
truth that the war against Saddam Hussein is the war on terrorism.

America is in imminent danger. You're either for her or against her.
There is no middle ground. I think we all know where you stand. I will stand
with the soldiers, airmen, and sailors. The hard working men and women of
this great country. Not the overpaid, pansy, Hollywood wimp wanna be's, and
has beens, who can't hold a candle to real Americans, the middle class blue
collar workers.

What do you think? Boycott any Hollywood type that protest against the USA.

God Bless America

Charlie Daniels

What is the Iraqi air force motto?
I came, I saw, Iran.

Have you heard about the new Iraqi air force exercise programme? Each
morning you raise your hands above your head and leave them there.

What's the five-day forecast for Baghdad?
Two days.

What do Miss Muffet and Saddam Hussein have in common?
They both have Kurds in their way.

What is the best Iraqi job?
Foreign ambassador.

Did you hear that it is twice as easy to train Iraqi fighter pilots? You
only have to teach them to take off.

How do you play Iraqi bingo?
B-52 ... F-16 ... A-10 ... B-1

What is Iraq's national bird?
Duck.

What do Saddam Hussein and General Custer have in common?
They both want to know where the hell those Tomahawks are coming from!

Why does the Iraqi navy have glass bottom boats?
So they can see their air force.

I can't believe this.....Who cares about the Anti-war protesters..The don't care about our troops.
Things like this below make me so mad.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland, Ore., Fire Bureau on Tuesday rescinded an order to remove American flags from fire engines after hordes of complaints from the public and firefighters about taking down Old Glory.

"The firefighters were complaining, the citizens were complaining -- it was a lot of public outcry against the decision," Tom Chamberlain, president of the Portland Firefighters Association, told Foxnews.com. A firefighter for 25 years, "I've never heard of a protester attacking a fire truck."

Fire Bureau Deputy Chief Gary Warrington on Monday had ordered his downtown fire engines to remove the flags to prevent provocations of local anti-war demonstrators.

"This policy will continue until we no longer have sustained close contact interaction with protesters and demonstrators," Warrington wrote in a memo to the city's three downtown fire companies, The Oregonian first reported. "We do not want extremists attacking our apparatus and our personnel."

But the bureau reversed the order Tuesday after a slew of complaints and efforts by a local firefighters union to push for a compromise.

Area firemen began flying the flag after the Sept. 11 attacks. The emblem was soon seen on rearview mirrors and other parts of the vehicles.

"The American flag means a lot to them because they're proud of their country," Chamberlain said. "But also, they tie that to 9/11 and what happened to the twin towers. It touches on a lot of emotion for my folks."

Some firefighters, sensitive to protocol, thought some displays of the flag were improper, reported the newspaper. Top Fire Bureau officials talked the issue over, researched proper flag-displaying etiquette and issued a policy allowing trucks to display and fly them.

But after an anti-war protest last week featuring several flag burnings, with fire crews present, Warrington decided on a new policy: take down the flags.

"My position is not, 'we should bow to these people, we should be worried about them, we should let them win,'" Warrington told The Oregonian. "I absolutely want to stand up and support the flag. All I was trying to do was keep our members from being put in harm's way."

Even anti-war protesters dismissed the decision to remove the flags.

"I have never heard anything so ridiculous in my life," Will Seaman, organizer of the Portland Peaceful Response Coalition, told Foxnews.com. "Emotions are very high ... but there's an overwhelming clear and dedicated commitment to nonviolent protest against this war."

Seaman said the movement was commited to non-violent protest. But several people have been arrested throughout the state recently, mostly for blocking bridges and roadways.

And on Tuesday, a vandal burned an American flag hanging from the porch of a former Gulf War veteran while the man was at church.

But Seaman insisted most protesters have a lot of respect for the flag, especially in light of the current war in Iraq.

"There are people who fall into what I would call the kind of classic category of American patriot -- they revere the American flag. They want to take back the American flag … that they think is being debased by the Bush administration in this war," Seaman said. "They are the last people that would burn the American flag."

There may be some thought to this. . . . .

    Here's the plan:

   1) The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their
affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini and the rest of them
good old boys'. We will never "interfere" again.

    2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with
Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We
would
station troops at our borders. No more sneaking through holes in the fence.

   3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and
leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will
be
gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are.
France would welcome them.

    4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90
days unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be
allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself, don't hide
here.
Asylum would not ever be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab
drivers.

   5) No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they
don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.

   6) The US will make a strong effort to become self sufficient energy
wise. This will include developing non polluting sources of energy but will
require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou
will have to cope for a while.

    7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel
for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else.

  8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we
will not "interfere". They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain,
cement or whatever they need. Besides' most of what we give them is stolen
or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if any
anyway.

    9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an island some place. We don't need the
spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, it would make a good homeless
shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

  10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one
can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer. Now, ain't that a winner of a
plan.
