I have not heard back yet, but there is a 10 - 12 time difference.  I talked with Jim Wilkes (V-drive tech) and he says deals like that are actually quite common.

Jim hooked me up with a freight forwarder and it looks like $5000 to ship the flatty in a 20 foot container.  He said to only do wire transfers and only ship when funds clear.  So if this thing is for real, I am ready to do business with West Africa.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it is real. The world is changing and international trade has hit a whole new level. Just look at what you can buy internationally on e-bay. Who knows that guy may be a buyer for some prince.

Holy.....um...moly!  It looks like it is a real deal.  I got a reply e-mail and called to confirm.

He just has to agree to a wire transfer as payment.  I will be a believer when the money is in the bank.

How cool would it be to have my Mandella in West Africa?  Talk about a head turner!

Looks earily similar to many scams.  they want to send you a cashier check for more than what you are asking.  They have a "friend" who owes them money and has them send you a cashier check written on an american bank.  Cashier check is usually fake.

I am insisting on a wire transfer.  This is standard for international deals and cannot be forged (atleast not yet).  When the money is wired to you, it is yours.  You can cash a cahiers check, but if it is fake, the bank comes back to you for the money and other info like where you got that fake check from.

this guy was sort of ignoring the wire transfer request.  I sent him an e-mail yesterday saying "WIRE TRANSFER ONLY".  "NO CASHIER CHECKS."  He has not replied yet.

Time will tell.
