Quote (Sleek-Jet @ April 19 2003,8:56 pm) | How'd the new diesel run? |
That is the most impressive combination I've ever driven in a turbo-diesel and the only one I haven't driven is the new 6.0 Powerstroke and I haven't heard anything good about them, although they're new and have some bugs to work out.
This is how I spent the day yesterday. From Oklahoma City to Phoenix in under 12 hours while getting 20+ miles per gallon. I haven't figured it out yet as a total trip, but that Duramax is bad ass.
I just got done pulling off all the pinstripes, body molding, the Duramax and 2500HD badges. Windows should get tinted tomorrow I hope. I ran into a problem with the wheels, as the ones I want aren't out yet, which could explain why I haven't seen them anywhere. Maybe I'll have to go with the Welds now afterall. I'll see what kind of deal they'll give me.

It didn't seem that quick when I was driving it...
Yeah, the Duramax is an Isuzu motor and between it and the Allison tranny, all I can say is wow.
Let's just put it this way, the last time I stopped for fuel I was in Grants New Mexico. Hauled ass the whole way home and 350 or so miles later, I'm still at half a tank.
