I think the Eastwood Company would have that stuff. They have a website, just can't think of the address.

told they are about the only to get the correct stuff, sort of like the end of a pencil, only way to get consistent pattern, just time, lots of time to get it done.

The cratex stuff works well but get a lot of them they don’t last long. I use them for deburring all the time but have never used them to get a polish shine. Let us know how it turns out.

Don’t forget your safety glasses when those things let go little bits go everywhere.

swirl polishing is a bit different, and I'm sure you have seen it, looks like a bunch of circles next to each other. Was used in the late 60's by Ford for dash boards, sometimes on clock faces, looks trick but lots of work, sometimes I think I'm some sort of fool, to want to do something that nobody will see, but you gotta have a hobby    :laugh  Have decided I am not going to do any more bikes or cars(for awhile) need another addition, BOATS BE GOOOOD  :p I'm just a glutten for punishishment :eek  go figure. Later I'll show ya'll how much trouble I can get in :D to all who have helped with my ailment need to say Thanks (my lady might not say that but, ooohhhh wellll) got to have your pryorities right .      (can't spell either)

I've heard it called engine turning before, is that the same thing?

In gunsmithing they call it Jewelling it is often done on rifle bolts. I did it with a fine round wire brush and some lapping compound. The hardest part is getting the swirls evenly spaced. That is where a mill can come in handy. It is a tedious process but it is pretty neat looking when you are done.

goes by different names but you  got the idea. Cratex makes a rubberized  abraiseive in a round bob keeps it all equal, still alot of work. been along time so will have to messup a piece of scrap first, may end up being a 4'x8' piece but will have it right!

Shooting trap is a lot of fun. It is also a good way to burn up some serious money. I haven’t figured out weather guns or boats cost more.  :p
