Ok, I have tried using alot of different products to remove river waterspots from my boat/pwc. I have tried polish, wax and a few other things but no luck. These spots are seriously caked on my boat. Does anyone know of a good product that does work or does have a technic for moving waterspots?  :angry

I scored some of this at OP6-V! :good  Thanks PartyCat and RiverRacerX! :D It's specifically for water spots.  I haven't tried it yet though.  RiverRacerX sells it on his site, RiverRacerX.com

This is what I use just put in a spray bottle and wipe down after getting out the water at launch ramp. I had a black boat and belive me this works.

The Vinegar 1/2 n 1/2 with water works very well, better than some actual water spot removers like Ducky - although Ducky works pretty good.

For really nasty spots, I spray it on real wet, then rub the area with my bare fingers to really wet out the area.  I will leave for several minutes, then wipe off.  I re-apply as needed.

But, you should make sure you atleast put a spray wax on after to help the boat resist water spotting.

I am very anal about my boat - a $5000 Dick Vale paint job will do that to you - here is my annual routine:

Good hand wax (McGuires Boat wax works well, but there many others) atleast twice a year.

Wipe off boat when pulled out of the water as quickly as possible and I use the synthetic chammois.

I spray wax after (Eagle Wet works well but there are many others) every 2 or 3 boat uses - as needed.

Use the 50/50 vinegar/water solution as needed and immediately follow with spray or hand wax.  Hand wax is best as the vinegar takes almost all the old wax off.

If the boat is in the water all day - I wipe off with synthetic chammois as needed.

If the water spots have pitted your gel coat, you may need to buff out with rubbing compound, or in worse cases, you may need to color sand.  My boat has a polyurethane coating on it, so it resists permenant spotting very well.  I know, I can't color sand like the gel coat boys, but the great thing about that is that it never needs it  :bebe .

I should also mention that I use my boat a LOT (when it is running).  I take it out a couple dozen times a year on Elsinore alone, and then usually make several trips to the river.  So my weekly routine may be someone's annual routine.

If you take it out 2-3 times a year, then use the vinegar solution after your last trip and then apply a hand wax.  Use a spray wax just before you first trip, and then make sure you wipe down real well after pulling it out of the water.  Then use the vinegar solution on the spots that don't come off after wiping down - then a quick spray wax.

Did I mention I was anal? :good

Like someone already mentioned, White Vinigar and Purified water. I mix mine about 1/4 vinigar to 3/4 water to keep the smell down a little, and it still works great!! Waxing is a must afterwards though. I've used "Kit Carnueba" with good results.
